Se took her clinical training and found a job that has no salary, expense reimbersement but also no cap on earnings! It is usually easier to get hired in a 1099 position because you don't have to have the minimum sales experience that other jobs require.  The down side is there is way less training and support because it is an independent postion. You learn as you go. She started selling and has built up a steady business! The lesson here is be creative and find your path! Others might need more B2B sales experience or be around a medical or clinical setting to gain experience! Develop your story and find your transferable skills!  Bring your passion as she did!
