Episode 39! We enjoy Prophecy wine's "The Star" a light, citrusy Pinot Grigio which would go well with fish or chicken. Our whine this week is about our recent concert/live show experiences and how other people can make live events less enjoyable. Topics include: late arrivals, intoxicated people, hecklers, concert talkers, a river of beer, standing for two hours, personal space, and concerts on a weeknight in your 30's. K has made a return to knitting with a new strategy, after putting her yarn in "time out" for a few weeks. J is still working on Christmas projects and is experiencing some holiday panic about getting things done in time. K survived her first two weeks of CPE, and J got Disney +! Episode 38! We're on-location this week with Chad and David, the purveyors of @bittersweetsoapworks, who graciously hosted us and gave us a tour of their manufacturing set-up. Chad and David also provided the wines (yes, plural!) this week, Mi Mi en Provance, a light refreshing blush wine from France, and Dry Dock white from @plymouthbaywinery, a white whine with a sweet start and dry finish. Our whine this week is crafting disasters. Topics include: "handwash only" really means "handwash only", restarting patterns, delicate baby yarn, the importance of gauging, soap fails, laborious projects, and the monotony of doing the same things over and over. Tangents include: @queereye and @jvn, long car rides and rest stops, and Salem at Halloween. Chad and David also tell us how they got started making soap, including wine-infused soap! Episode 37! This week we're joined by J's friend and coworker, Karen! We forgo wine for a cozy warm beverage - mulled apple cider - with some delicious homemade pumpkin snickerdoodles on an extremely gross rainy day in MA. Karen brings this week's whine, which is essentially remembering to be human to other people. Topics include: meaningful pleases and thank yous, passive-aggressive thank yous and you're welcomes, email boundaries, thank yous as dismissive words. We also have some great tangents on Trick or Treating and lost pets. K's working on a me & baby infinity scarf/blanket bundle, J started a new Christmas gift project in an alpine stitch, and K tells us how she got into making soap! Episode 36! We're joined this week by Sha, J's massage therapist and owner of Emanate Essentials, a brand of at-home self care items that she makes. We enjoy Pinnacle Ridge's Riesling, which K and Sha both request J to bring them each bottles of next time she's in PA! Our whine this week is social media based. Topics include: trolls, FB strangers, people who just want to be controversial, life expectations/milestones, and "grass is greener" mentality. We also discuss happy things on social media, like our friends at @Digital_Fridge and @JVN's coffee dances and kitties. Sha shared so many self care goodies with us and explains the philosophy behind her products, such as finding balance and moments for self care no matter who you are. We talk about some of her products, including masks, facial oils, face cleansers, bath salts, and body butter, and basically just get spoiled! K FINALLY got her CPE schedule, J took a much needed self-care day from work, and Sha's products are now a part of a subscription box with

Episode 35! We're all in for fall this week! We enjoy an autumnal cocktail crafted by K and her husband involving Pumpkin Spice Cider and Rumson's Spiced Rum, an extremely warming and yummy drink. After some discussion of recent events, like a 4-day Nor'easter and furnace maintenance, we get to our main topic: Halloween whines. J hates horror movies, and doesn't get why people like being scared. K shares in a dislike of Haunted Houses and Fright Fest events (especially those ones where people chase/follow you!). K's main complaint is having a partner who won't wear a Halloween costume. We're both fans of planning out/crafting a costume and the opportunity to be something else. J is making her first Knitted Knockers and K is still fighting with that complicated baby blanket pattern. Good news: K's dad was born and J got to see the Lion King musical! Cheers!

Episode 34! We're joined this week by K's mom, Holly, as we delve into travel stories (our favorite!). We've veered off of wine this week to enjoy Angry Orchard's Rose hard cider - a pink cider made with red flesh apples from France. We then discuss our most recent travel whines including: toddler meltdowns, unnecessary complainers, people's expectations, accidentally getting on a train to Siberia, and making a train connection in Russia. K and J both abandoned the patterns they were working on to restart their yarn projects and Holly shares her annual Christmas Card making process. Episode 33! Our "Jesus" episode (or something). We enjoy a Dry Rose from Pinnacle Ridge Winery in Kutztown, PA - described as a Rose for red wine drinkers. J talks about the infestation of Lantern Flies in PA and how one traumatized her on her most recent trip. We then discuss sidewalk etiquette and other pedestrian issues, especially while trying to navigate a large city. Topics include: slow people, taking up too much room on the sidewalk, herd mentality, entitled actions, massholes, pointless honking, and being willing to help people who look lost. We both started new projects this week - K finished a bunch of things she's been working on including baby blankets and an infinity scarf, and J started another secret Christmas project that involves 3 skeins of yarn and a size Q crochet hook. We also discuss making size B knockers for Knitted Knockers. K is happy to attend a diversity and inclusion conference for work in Baltimore, and J is excited that she got to go to an Oktoberfest and wear her dirndl! Cheer

Episode 32! This week we enjoy Kurt's Apple Pie, an apple pie flavored mead from Moonlight meadery that gets even better with age! We then discuss commercials, particularly those on streaming platforms like Hulu. Topics include: repetition, ruining songs we used to like, targeted advertising (or lack thereof), and weird commercials. K is still working her way through baby-blanketpalooza 2019, and J is finishing up Nicholas the Bear's sweater. Episode 31! We're joined this week by K's friend Tiffany who lives in Dallas, TX and sells wine with Scout & Cellar direct sales.Tiffany was gracious enough to send us two bottles of wine from Scout & Cellar: Le Original, a Dry French Rose, and Etnico, a Cabernet Malbec Blend from Chile. We then "birdwalk" (a new term that J learned this episode) our way through a discussion about wine tastings including: big vs. small wineries, snooty wine explanations, guessing at what you like, being nice to others, suffering post-tasting headaches, and knowing where your wine comes from (plus the term "biodynamic winery!"). K is still working through her blue period of baby blankets, J is making a sweater for Nicholas the Bear, and Tiffany tells us about Bento Box design. K is glad it's Friday after a long week, J is excited to see her family, and Tiffany is happy for some down time. Well, another decapod has passed and we've made it to another listener episode! Our wine this week is a wine cocktail (wine-tail?) made from Cayuga Ridge Estates Cranberry Frost sparkling wine and their Peach Essence wine, yielding not one, but two satisfying cork pops. Whines this week include: a response to our Pumpkin Spice episode, the US Postal System, why isn't it cold yet?, a specific and relatable travel annoyance, and a listener's unexpected visit from their in-laws. Episode 29! We enjoy a lovely and potent dessert wine from Thirsty Owl vineyards - deep red in color and high in ABV! Avid movie-goer K brings the whine this week - people using cellphones in/during movies! Topics include: distracting behavior, courtesy to others, and being in the moment. K's entered a "blue period" of baby blankets and J is still working on Christmas gifts, including a request for a sweater for a stuffed bear. We're joined this week on the phone by K's friend Anna, who's launched her own crafting career. We drank some of Knapp Winery's Superstition which is a red wine that apparently tastes like "grape pie"...or grape juice? Anna enjoys a Cape May Brewing Company lager which is good with hotdogs and hamburgers. We then discuss the perils of the three day weekend, including planning too much to do and regretting it later, having SO MUCH work to do in only four days when you get back, the transition from summer to school year, traffic, and having people expect that for some reason you're still working even though it's a holiday. Anna then shares how she came to start her crafting business, Koaster Kween (@koasterkween on Instagram), and the excitement of learning new ways to craft and using materials like baking clay, acrylics, and resin to make funky cool coasters. Anna also tells us about her journey into bread making, including learning the proper way to make sourdough bread and her recent attempt at Cub

Episode 27! It's just us this week, holding down the fort. K regails us with a story about a pet python and her desire to never meet it. We drink a slightly spicy pomegranate wine from Lakeland Winery in Syracuse, NY (one of K's 22 bottles she brought back from the Finger Lakes). Speaking of spice, J brings the whine this week that August is not Pumpkin Spice Season. We discuss corporations' need to rush us into the next season before we've fully enjoyed the season we're in (including Dunkin', Starbucks, and Disney) and how those corporate-concocted seasons seem to be arbitrary with their end dates. This leads to a discussion of living in a culture that promotes having everything you want when you want it instead of paying attention to things like seasons for foods, and always looking to the future instead of enjoying the present. Episode 26! We recorded this episode on-location at our friend, Christine's, house...well actually in a camper next to her house, which was super fun! Christine is our guest this week, and along with being on the podcast, she's helping us with our super-fun super-secret crafting project for our lucky review-winner (she also fed us dinner and provided the wine this week). This week's wine is a zesty deep Malbec from Alamos Vineyards in Argentina, located in the Andes mountains, served in very fancy iridescent glasses. As it's the end of August, our whine this week is focused on back to school - being a parent of kids heading off to school (Christine), working with young adults coming to university (J), and finally getting a reprieve from school-aged children at work (K). Episode 25! We're joined this week by return guest, Kaitie, who you may remember as the inappropriate fiber artist behind @justasaltystitch on Instagram! We all were recently on wine-cations (trips that involved wine) and J brought back "Lost Slipper Sauvignon Blanc," a white wine from Disney's winery, Once Upon a Vine. With hints of stone fruits and lemon chiffon icing, it's a tasty summer beverage. This week's whine focuses on personal experiences with ineffective management/working styles at work, from both co-workers and supervisors. K's been struggling with a coworker's micromanagement style, Kaitie brings up the challenge of inconsistent expectations, and J reflects on both lack of management (needing to "manage up") and unrealistic expectations. This week is a bit of a grab bag episode because things...well things didn't go quite as we had planned. We finish up some leftover wine from @balderdashcellars, First Crush Winery, and @botabox so that K doesn't have too many opened bottles of wine in her fridge. We then discuss the fact that we've become grandmas - going to bed early, preferring a night in with a good book or The SIMS over going out dancing, and generally just enjoying a hermit lifestyle. K also has a mini whine about uninvited guests of the insect variety in her apartment. J is working on yet another Disney-related crafting project and K is still working her way through a baby blanket. In all our revelry of our 21st episode, we forgot to mention a winery we visited at Crush Wine Festival! To make up for this, we enjoyed First Crush Winery's "Innocence," a "hauntingly dry" (their words, not ours) Rose during this week's episode. K recently saw the new live-action Lion King remake (or as live action as CGI animals can be) and we discuss the pros and cons of Disney remaking movies and Disney live-action movies, which can be the same thing, but also can be different categories. Topics include: clamshell VHS boxes, opportunities to revisit old favorites, the "Little Mermaid" remake controversy, stronger female role models in Disney films, what versions of films to show future children, and the Disney-monopoly of movie-going as of late. We also talk about a few non-Disney movies we recently saw. J finished her Mickey ear project and is on to another Disney trip craft and K highlights making blankets for seniors. J's excited for a new level of adulting she unlocked t

Episode 21! We're legal drinking age now, so this episode is wine-heavy with some mini-whines.
