Episode 27! It's just us this week, holding down the fort. K regails us with a story about a pet python and her desire to never meet it. We drink a slightly spicy pomegranate wine from Lakeland Winery in Syracuse, NY (one of K's 22 bottles she brought back from the Finger Lakes). Speaking of spice, J brings the whine this week that August is not Pumpkin Spice Season. We discuss corporations' need to rush us into the next season before we've fully enjoyed the season we're in (including Dunkin', Starbucks, and Disney) and how those corporate-concocted seasons seem to be arbitrary with their end dates. This leads to a discussion of living in a culture that promotes having everything you want when you want it instead of paying attention to things like seasons for foods, and always looking to the future instead of enjoying the present.
