Synopsis

Dr. Rubin not only focuses on chiropractic, but also helping others strive to live a healthy and positive lifestyle.

Episodes

  • Episode 380: The Missing Link: Motion

    24/11/2020 Duration: 14min

Newton's law: A body in motion tends to stay in motion, and a body at rest tends to stay at rest, unless acted upon by an outside force. Chiropractic is that force! We add motion to the spine and nerve system, thereby helping that body that was at rest (with whatever ailment) become a body in motion (healthier). The key thing is that once the body is in motion (healthier), it tends to stay in motion! But you've got to keep up the things that got it in motion in the first place!

  • Episode 379: The adjustment with that extra something

    17/11/2020 Duration: 15min

What is a chiropractic adjustment with that extra something? The extra something is embodying "The Big Idea." The adjustment is so much bigger than just moving some spinal bones around. Have you read Stephenson's 'The Chiropractic Textbook' or BJ's 'Chiropractic Clinical Controlled Research'? These are go-to's to learn more about with the Big Idea really means!

  • Episode 378: Survival Values

    10/11/2020 Duration: 16min

Survival values? Accumulative constructive and accumulative destructive survival values can be applied not only to good habits vs bad habits, but also to opposing universal forces (such as energy from the sun, a constructive force, and hurricane winds, a destructive force). Innate intelligence is the personal version of universal intelligence, and we must be careful what survival values we are focusing on... are we accumulating constructive or destructive survival values?

  • Episode 377: Supercharge it!

    03/11/2020 Duration: 15min

Supercharge your practice and your life by taking the choice points you are confronted with everyday and making the best possible selection. How do you do this? Listen as I discuss a recent case of a child with Autism and the many choice points that occurred during the first several visits. Then join me on Saturday November 14th for ICPA's 1st ever Advanced Elective on Zoom! 8 hours of high voltage, high energy, hands-on, experiential pediatric chiropractic, taken to a new level. • Episode 376: "Life Without Fear"

    27/10/2020 Duration: 12min

"Life Without Fear" is the title of a book by Dr. Fred Barge, one of my favorite classic chiropractic texts. Dr Barge was a contemporary of BJ Palmer, and told us that living a chiropractic life didn't make you impervious to pain or health issues, but made you strong in knowing that "the power that made the body can heal the body'". Our healing potential is astonishing and most of our patients have no idea what it is capable of. I am teaching an Advanced Elective for the ICPA for all those docs who have taken my first required ICPA class. • Episode 375: What do you focus on?

    20/10/2020 Duration: 15min

Are you watching your thoughts? What are you focused on? Are you thinking about what you want? Or are you using precious brain energy to think about what is wrong, what others want for you, or what has always been? None of those 3 will bring what you desire. Time to consciously train our own brains. If you become what you think about, then be careful what you think about!

  • Episode 374: Heard about Tic Tok? How about "TIc Talk?"

    13/10/2020 Duration: 12min

Are you talking the 'tic?" As BJ Palmer says, the adjustment is a 'big thing' to a person, but an even more important thing is helping them 'get the big idea." A chiropractic adjustment produces great results, but a chiropractic adjustment surround by love and a focused explanation can change someone's paradigm forever. Make sure you are doing your 'Tic Talk' every day!

  • Episode 373: How many apples in one seed?

    06/10/2020 Duration: 12min

Planting seeds is what we do. Not every seed will grow, but the ones that do, produce glorious and potentially far-reaching results. Some seeds become a meal for the crows; some never grow at all; and some grow a bit and then wither away. But those that grow, wow can they produce! Did you plant lots of seeds today?

  • Episode 372: The difference between fixing problems & maximizing potential

    29/09/2020 Duration: 36min

The concept of Neurodiversity is more important today than ever. Chiropractors don't fix problems...we maximize potential. Our goal isn't to fix a 'broken' kid or even a bad back. Our goal should be to help that person be the best person they can be, regardless of what brought them in to our offices.

  • Episode 371: What's inside an acorn?

    22/09/2020 Duration: 14min

Have you ever looked inside an acorn? Is there a small tree in it, a miniature version? No...there is just a seed. It looks nothing like a tree at all. Will that seed produce just 1 tree? No...that seed will GROW 1 tree, but then the seeds from THAT tree can grow many trees! Will that seed produce just 1 leaf? No...that seed will produce thousands of leaves over the course of its lifetime! PLANT SEEDS EVERYDAY, the seeds of chiropractic!

  • Episode 370: Chiropractic is about feeling it not just about doing it!

    15/09/2020 Duration: 14min

Chiropractic reconnects the disconnected kids. We allow their brains and their bodies to work together, in harmony, which manifests as a feeling. Children improve their eye contact, socialization, communication, because their brains are blazing new pathways where they didn't exist before. Chiropractic is so much more than just 'moving bones.' It's about the feeling you get when you first see that youngster, maybe at their worst, and then watch them as they blossom.

  • Episode 369: The Road Less Traveled

    08/09/2020 Duration: 13min

"Life is difficult" are the opening lines to the book, The Road Less Traveled. Dr Peck goes on to say that once you truly accept the idea that life is difficult, "then life is no longer difficult." This is one of the 'great truths' as he calls it, and can be helpful in realizing that we have a big job to do, and when called to do it, must endeavor to continually aim towards our mission, our purpose, our vision.

  • Episode 368: The Neuroskeleton can be a protector or disturber

    01/09/2020 Duration: 12min

DD Palmer was way ahead of his time. In his 1914 book, The Chiropractor, published by his wife after his passing, he coins the phrase : Neuroskeleton. This is so much like the concepts brought out by recent authors like Thomas Myers in his Anatomy Trains and Guimberteau's Architecture of Human Living Fascia. We are WAY more connected than what most anatomy textbooks discuss.

  • Episode 367: Are there 4 or actually 5 basic forces of physics?

    24/08/2020 Duration: 16min

Physics claims that there are 4 basic forces: Gravity, electromagnetic, weak and strong force. I'd like to propose a 5th force: the Life force! What is the difference if you cut a piece of meat or cut your finger? The finger heals; the meat doesn't! How? The Life force! That might be the strongest force in all of physics!

  • Episode 366: How Mona Lisa relates to Chiropractic

    18/08/2020 Duration: 12min

Contrast the Mona Lisa, arguably the most famous painting in the world, with Jackson Pollock's Convergence, (the infamous drip artist from the 1950's). What do they have to do with chiropractic? The patient comes in with whatever problems THEY tell you are their concerns. Their chief complaint may be clear and obvious, like the Mona Lisa, but the real reason they came in is more like the Pollock painting...there are lots of possibilities to find the TRUE reason they are there!

  • Episode 365: Picasso, Chiropractic & Perspective

    11/08/2020 Duration: 14min

When you think of Picasso, you may think of weird looking paintings with distorted faces and misshaped landscapes. Picasso's gift was seeing multiple perspectives at once, of seeing all the emotions that a person is portraying and putting them on the canvas AT THE SAME TIME. The reason a patient comes to our offices is not THE REASON, it is the last thing that brought them there. Why they are really there is the perspective you need to figure out. Be like Picasso! Be an artist with your patients.

  • Episode 364: Power Beyond Measure!

    04/08/2020 Duration: 15min

Can you grow under adverse conditions? Do you have the faith, confidence and belief that you can make it, no matter what? "You must work harder on yourself than you do on your job," (Jim Rohn). If a flower can grow in the middle of cement, if grass can split asphalt and thrive in the middle of the road, then so can achieve your goals and dreams!

  • Episode 363: How many triangles?

    27/07/2020 Duration: 16min

Can you see past the obvious? Can you read between the lines, and really understand what is being said, without it being said? That is the key to successful communication. Often patients will tell you the reason why they are there, but that is not the REAL reason. It's just the first thing they are thinking of. It takes skill to sift through and get to the root cause. Check out the triangle article here: https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/math/a30706968/viral-triangle-brain-teaser-solved/

  • Episode 362: How a Comet Relates to Chiropractic

    21/07/2020 Duration: 15min

Have you seen Comet Neowise? It is a magnificent display of universal intelligence in action. It has all this potential as it approaches the earth, but can hardly be detected. Then that potential energy turns into kinetic energy as it lights up while bouncing on the earth's atmosphere. Just like our health...all this potential but it has to interact with lots of health deposits in order to really shine! In the US and Canada it can be seen now in the northern sky 1 hour after sunset. Check out this link from NASA: https://www.nasa.gov/feature/how-to-see-comet-neowise

  • Episode 361: What's next?

    14/07/2020 Duration: 32min

One of my favorite words is 'next!' When things go off target, what's the next step? When you swing and miss, what do you correct next time? What's next after the pandemic? What are you learning now that will get you to the next place? Join Dr Rubin and Kenton for part 2 of his interview.
