While KaliSara is presenting at Heartland Pagan Festival this weekend, RevKess will be chatting with new Pagan musician Bran Cerddorion about his debut album, "Four Branches: Tales of the Mabinogi in Song" Bran is a bard at heart, inspired by the realms in which myth, Nature, and dream come together. As a practitioner of Druidry and the Bardic arts, he focuses the creative flow of the Awen into writing songs that promote peace, a reverence for the world around us, and the stories we tell each other, but  not without a touch of humor. He began playing music around 2007-08 when his brother taught him to play the mandolin, and together they wrote and played many a song. This includes “Earth-Centered” worship. In place of the weekly community worship service led by a volunteer civilian faith leader, trainees have been told that they will have an hour of private “contemplation and reflection.” In response, Pagan civil rights group Lady Liberty League is working to change what they, and other religious rights groups, consider a discriminatory practice." Christopher Blackwell has been a solitary Wiccan for thirty years, and currently lives in New Mexico. He began following AREN around 2000, shortly after it changed names from the Witches Anti-Discrimination League (WADL) to the Alternative Religions Educational Network (AREN). The organization was formed in the 1970s by Leo Martello and, for many years, worked for the protection of religious rights. However, the organization had to be dissolved after the Anti-Defamation League threatened a lawsuit over use of the name. Shortly after, AREN was born.

We have moved into the Presidential Campaign season in the United States. The GOP has at least five candidates for the nomination, the Democrats have two. And there is Pagan news to talk about.  These are the intended topics of the show, as regular listeners are well aware, the hosts sometimes stray from the stated topic for PWN. With everything that is going on around the globe, you can't deny that someone or something is trying to get our attention. The volcano in Chile that errupted twice last week (once on Earth Day), the 7.8 earthquake in Nepal, the riots (uprising?) in Baltimore, MA, and the Supreme Court of the United States taking on what could be the final decision regarding same-sex marriage across the nation. Bringing Race to the Table: Exploring Racism in the Pagan Community editors Crystal Blanton, Taylor Ellwood and Brandy Williams join KaliSara and RevKess for a conversation about this much needed book and conversation in the modern Pagan world. For 45 years people around the world, especially in the United States, Canada, and Europe, have celebrated April 22nd as a day to remember the Earth and what She means to us. Often times those who participate in Earth Day celebrations go through the rest of the year not even thinking about the damage that they may be causing to the very planet they celebrate once a year. In this week's edition of PWN KaliSara and RevKess will be talking about Earth Day and how to celebrate it year round. Damon Leff of the Pagan Rights Alliance (South Africa) and Touchstone Advocacy joins RevKess and KaliSara during the 8th annual 30 Days of Advocacy Against Witch Hunts. The persecution of "witches" in South Africa and elsewhere around the world is real. The majority of the victims of these witch hunts are old women and young children. Damon will talk about the history of this program and the impact that it has had in South Africa as well as what the persecutions are about.
