Synopsis
This is the place where the world discusses indoor air quality, the built environment and disaster restoration issues. Every Friday at noon ET the show is live. The shows host are Joe Hughes, President of IAQ Training Institute and Cliff Zlotnik, President of Microban Systems. Every week we interview experts from the indoor air quality, building sciences and disaster restoration industry. As instructors for IAQ and disaster restoration training programs and active participants in industry associations we have the credibility and contacts necessary to bring top industry experts as guests on the show every week. The show is designed to help promote education and communication for industry professionals and consumers in need of assistance with IAQ, built environment and disaster restoration issues.

A Senior Fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, he has published extensively. As a consultant with Building Dynamics, he has conducted over 1000 IAQ investigations, including assessments of the White House, South Pole Station and Sing Sing Prison. In his other life, Ed is lead singer and first chair banjoist with the All New Genetically Altered Jug Band and author of There's A Fungus Among Us!

Professor Tang Lee is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Calgary who teaches building science (building enclosure, acoustics), mechanical engineering (HVAC), civil engineering (masonry), environmental health (IAQ), construction management, energy physics (solar) and almost everything else in architecture. Robert Bean is a registered engineering technologist in the field of building construction engineering. EPISODE111 - Bob Baker, ASHRAE Distinquished Lecturer
06/02/2009Bob Baker founded BBJ Environmental and served as its Chairman from 1993 to 2007. Before BBJ Environmental, Baker worked as an executive in both the public and private sector. Bob came to Florida from the University of Texas' prestigious M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he served as Vice President for Administrative Services. Prior to that, he was an executive with Gulf Oil Corporation. Mr. Baker is an enthusiastic contributor to the industry through several organizations. He is on the board of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). He sits on two ASTM Standards committees, four ASHRAE Standards and Technical Committees, and has written numerous papers and articles. He was given the ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award in June of 2007 and is a member of the ASHRAE Standards Committee as well as the Code Interaction Subcommittee and Standards Project Liaison Subcommittee. EPISODE110 - Richard Shaughnessy, Ph.D. -University of Tulsa
30/01/2009Dr. Shaughnessy received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Tulsa where he currently serves as the Program Manager for indoor air research, and is the university spokesman on issues related to IAQ and radon. He is a world-renowned expert on IAQ issues. Dr. Shaughnessy has taught and conducted research abroad in locations including China, South Africa and Australia, and is recipient of the 1996 National Trainer of the Year Award. Dr. Shaughnessy served as the principal adviser to the EPA on development of the IAQ Diagnostics: Hands-On Assessment of Building Ventilation and Pollutant Transport course, and has been developing IAQ courses for the EPA since 1991. He continues to conduct research on IEQ in Schools and student performance. He was also recently a Section Editor for the AIHA Green Book "Recognition, Evaluation and Control of Indoor Molds". 12/12/2008Philip R. Morey received his Ph.D. degree in Biology from Yale University and is certified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. Dr. Morey has held various teaching positions including Lecturer of Biology at Harvard University and Professor of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University. He has also held a research position (Research Microbiologist; Research Industrial Hygienist) while at The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in the 1980s and was subsequently Director of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)/Microbiology at several consulting companies. Currently, Dr. Morey is Principal Consultant Microbiology at ENVIRON International Corporation. Dr. Morey was one of the panelists for the first consensus mold remediation guideline published by the New York Department of Health in 1993. Gots, M.D., Ph.D. is Chief Executive Officer of the International Center for Toxicology and Medicine and the Chief Science Officer of Building Health Sciences in Rockville, Maryland. He received his A.B. in chemistry and his M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. Since 1975, he has devoted his professional activities to solving clients problems in environmental medicine, toxicology, causation analysis, and risk communication. Dr. Gots has focused on the scientific methods for assessing causation of diseases allegedly associated with chemical and biological agents.
