12. Being Irresistible – speak to an audience of ONE
08/05/2022 Duration: 03minWant to build your reach while becoming known as a trusted authority in your field? Don’t try to be all things to all people – especially with the message you share. The broader your message is, the longer it’ll take to build your reach OR be seen as a trusted authority. If ever. Because your message will get lost in the noise. Instead, hone your message to a specific niched audience. And, speak to that niche. Speak to your audience of one. When you do and you speak into the challenges, he/she faces, along with the desired outcomes he/she longs for, as well as invaluable insights on HOW they can begin to achieve that, it won’t be long before that audience of one becomes two, becomes four, eight, and so on. Because you become a go-to resource and can continue to nurture your community into leads and inquiries and eventually customers. But it starts with ONE, clear and highly-niched message that speaks to an audience of ONE. Get clear on that first! In the next few tips, I’ll be sharing more about

11. Being Irresistible – what is it and is not
01/05/2022 Duration: 05minBeing irresistible as you would probably know means to be so compelling that you are hard to resist. An online definition of irresistible said: too powerful or convincing to be resisted. However, in the context of becoming irresistible to your ideal client – it's just that. Being irresistible to YOUR ideal client. Not trying to be irresistible to everyone and anyone – but rather your ideal client. Also, when it comes to being irresistible when it comes to business there are some certain areas I’m referring to, which are important you focus on (which I’ll dive deeper into in the upcoming tips) and some things you should avoid. Let’s look at some of the things you should avoid. So, often, we assume that to be irresistible we have to become someone or something that is going to stand out and attract our ideal client. And that becoming someone or something means we completely diminish who we are and/or how we come across. Identify the best part of you and give yourself permission to shine. You don’t need to wear

10. Your Uncopyable Story: Markers & Milestones
24/04/2022 Duration: 05minFollowing on from yesterday’s tip where I spoke about two elements that are unique and uncopyable about you being a blend of your characteristics and your mannerisms, today I’m sharing another two elements that no one else can copy because they’re unique to you and no-one else. And, when you weave these elements into your story and your message – no one else can copy it because it’s not their journey NOR has it happened to them. Today I’m talking about Markers and Milestones. Markers are significant events in your life, such as challenges and struggles that you have had to face and overcome. Milestones are the successes, the achievements you have secured when facing those challenges. Now when thinking about Markers and Milestones, Markers must be relevant to your ideal client and something they resonate with, are most likely struggling with themselves and the milestones must also be something your ideal client resonates with, because most likely this is something they’re longing to achieve – however have

09: Being Unique and Uncopyable starts here (Mannerisms and Characteristics)
17/04/2022 Duration: 04minYesterday I spoke about what it means to Uncopyable and how when we identify unique elements about who we are – no one can copy you. In today’s tip, I want to speak about two of those and in tomorrow’s tip – I’ll share two more. Today, I want to talk about your Characteristics (or character traits) and Mannerisms. Your characteristics are your distinguishing features and qualities. Your mannerisms – are a group of verbal or other unconscious habitual behaviors that are particular to you. In fact – your mannerisms can bring out your character. For instance, a confident person (which could be a character of confidence) can be brought to life by maintaining eye contact when you speak. Walking upright with your head held higher can also exude the character of confidence. The opposite mannerism that brings out the character of being shy and/or reserved, could be speaking softly, head tilted downward, avoiding eye contact. Some other character traits could be honest, brave, bold, compassionate, lead, coura

08: Being Uncopyable – what it is and is NOT
10/04/2022 Duration: 05minToday I want to speak about what I mean when I speak about being Uncopyable, and what it is NOT. To me and what I’m supporting my clients in identifying are all of the unique and uncopyable elements about who they are, along with their journey and experience that no-one else can copy. It’s uncopyable because it isn’t their history, their story, their journey. It’s YOUR’s and your’s alone. Recently, I heard a business owner share that she attended a training and the facilitator told attendees – if you don’t have an interesting story – just make one up. I don’t know about your definition of ‘make something up.’ However, making something up – faking it till you make it – is a deception, a lie. And, as the Change Maker I know you are – you don’t need to fake it till you make it, nor do you make something up. You just need to dig deeper to identify the unique and uncopyable aspects of you. And, that’s exactly what we’ll be covering tomorrow – and in this entire 30DaysToDistinction Challenge. It’s ALL impo

07: The importance of defining your ONE thing
03/04/2022 Duration: 05minAre you a multi-passionate person, who loves to learn, you have many interests, and you struggle to define who you are and how you can support people in one succinct statement? Yeah – me too. I struggled with that for YEARS. In fact, if you’ve followed me for a minute – you'd have heard me share before how as multi - passionate individuals who LOVE learning, we need to be mindful NOT to let our diverse interests - water down our message. Because focusing on too many things – without a clear and compelling outcome (which speaks to the outcome our ideal client seeks) will mean our message gets lost in the noise. One of the ways I watered down my message years ago was when I started speaking about social media to business groups. They’d heard about the success my co - host and I were having with leveraging social media to promote our podcast, so wanted me to share all of our secrets. I was happy too. However, what invertedly happened was that my core message of Personal Branding was watered down, as I spoke more

06: The Distinction Triad
27/03/2022 Duration: 04minIn yesterday’s tip I shared what it means to be distinguishable and that it was NOT tooting your own trumpet and saying how wonderful you are and better than everyone and anyone else in your industry. But rather it’s about highlight areas that speaks directly to your ideal client and positions you being better-placed to serve and support them in achieving their goals and desired outcomes. And the areas that can help you do that is in today’s tip – The Distinction Triad. I can up with the Distinction Triad after working with a client and helped her put together her personal marketing document – her resume. She started her career working as an Office Admin and over the years had become a Change Management Consultant overseeing multimillion dollar IT change projects for semi-government organisations. She had gone from strength to strength and as I wrote her achievement statements and reviewed her career I identified three distinct areas that she had continuously brought to the workplace that had seen her go

05: Being Distinguishable – what it is and is NOT
20/03/2022 Duration: 04minBeing Distinguishable – what it is and what it is NOT. Let’s start with what it is NOT. Being distinguishable is NOT thinking and acting as if you’re all that. In fact, it has nothing to do with being better or greater than anyone or everyone else. I Being distinguishable is not about saying how wonderful you are, and big noting yourself, tooting your own horn. In fact, it has nothing to do with feeding your ego at all. Being distinguishable is about pointing out key areas that you know is going to stand out from the noise, capture the attention of your ideal client, because it resonates with them. In fact, I have a saying: Being Distinguishable is NOT you’re better than everyone else, but rather how you’re better placed to support your ideal client. Being distinguishable is about how you are unique and can demonstrate how your skills, knowledge, experience, achievements etc are distinguishable are set apart from others in your industry and best able to support your ideal client in overcoming the
