This talk examined the importance of a child’s early years, focusing on the role of parenting, and ask how we can break cycles of disadvantage. Professor Barlow discusses A Better Start - a new, innovative intervention for families in deprived areas. She is leading the national evaluation of this programme. This lecture was given as part of the University of Oxford's Meeting Minds Alumni Weekend in 2017.
