Wrestling Fans Podcast

Fenix and I talked NXT Takeover 4 and Summerslam 2018.  We discussed Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano's Last Man Standing Match and if the injury was a story line or real.   Congratulations to Kairi Sane for becoming the new NXT Women's Champion beating Shayna Baszler.  Two phenomenal matches between Adam Cole & Ricochet for the NXT North American Championship & Velveteen Dream vs. EC3.  Incredible futures for all 4 men!   We closed the show out just before Summerslam started, we discussed who we would like to see win between Strowman, KO, Roman and Brock.  

Matt and I discussed Raw, Smackdown and some upcoming matches at Summerslam.   We talked about Ronda Rousey's upcoming 1st ever match on Monday Night Raw next week.  We talked Summerslam and a potential Money in the Bank briefcase cash in. We dissected the odds on favorite of the 4 superstars leaving Summerslam with the Universal Title, Reigns, Strowman, KO & Brock.   We talked the Lana losing her accent & the possibility of Rusev vs. Aiden English down the line.  The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan is finally official for Summerslam, Matt and I talked about who we'd like to see come out with a victory in 2 weeks.

While Fenix and I were recording Episode 015 of the Wrestling Fans Podcast we took a break and watched NXT on the WWE Network and enjoyed the main event; Tommaso Ciampa stole the NXT Championship from Aleistar Black after interference from Johnny Gargano. Prior to that, we talked about the all Women's Evolution PPV coming up in October, Impact Wrestling Slammiversary XVI and "this week in Wrestling."  We are looking forward to AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe and the potential Miz vs. Daniel Bryan match at Summerslam.  

Fenix and I celebrated "Matthew Dayyyyy" and discussed him sharing a birthday with Al Snow, Mandy Rose, Joey Mercury & Carlos Colon Sr. After the celebrations we talked about Extreme Rules.  Congratulations again to Ron Wigley & Dave Quinlan the PPV Predictions Contest champs for going 10/11. We talked about the 30 minute Iron Man Intercontinental Championship Match main eventing the PPV, the big bump in the Strowman vs. KO Cage match and women's championship Extreme Rules match with "suspended" WWE/ UFC superstar Ronda Rousey getting involved and gave the PPV overall a "B like the B-Team."

Matt and I welcome back Hulk Hogan with open arms.  We discussed the 60-70% who were not happy to see the Hulkster return. We talked about the current state of wrestling and how social media has changed Wrestling for the positive and negative.  Mikey Messier called in and tried to answer the question "Is this it for Wrestling, will ratings continue to decline or can the product improve to where it was during the Attitude Era?"  We also talked about the difficult transition from NXT to the main roster and the XFL.  The VALUE of the WWE Network for $9.99, Shawn Michaels discussing the possibility of more match.  Undertaker wrestling at Survivor Series and Wrestlemania next year. 

We dedicate this Wrestling Fans Podcast Episode 012 to the big man Vader.  We talked about his almost 30 year wrestling career and matches against Stan Hansen where his eye popped out of the socket, Cactus Jack, Kane, Rick Flair, Sting, Yokozuna, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ken Shamrock and his final match in the WWE in 2012 against Heath Slater. There was a lot to talk about "this week in Wrestling" from AJ Styles being on the cover of WWE2k19, Big Cass's termination, Sami Zayn's injury, the upcoming WWE shows at the Madison Square Garden and Australia with the Undertaker wrestling both shows.    

Matt and I recorded episode 011 on our way TO and FROM NXT Takeover in Chicago and the next night Sunday TO and FROM Money in the Bank.  We discuss the two shows and the awesome weekend of Wrestling in Chicago.  

We talked CM Punk's UFC fight, this week in Wrestling, NXT Takeover Saturday and MITB on Sunday in Chicago.

Matt and I talked this week in wrestling and Money in the Bank feuds that are building.  

Matt and I talked this week in Wrestling, Raw and Smackdown in the UK, Nia Jax challenging Ronda Rousey & Carmella vs. Asuka at MITB in Chicago. Daniel Bryan and Big Cass & Roman Reigns and Jinder Mahal furthered their feuds potentially setting matches in Chicago and we talked about possible stipulations for Styles vs. Nakamura at Money in the Bank.   Long time wrestling fan, actor and screen play writer Sir Mikey Messier called into the podcast and we talked Hogan, Andre, Macho Man & Ultimate Warrior.

Matt and I quickly reviewed Backlash and discussed NXT Takeover and MITB in Chicago.  We discussed the transitive property in Sports Entertainment, if someone beat someone therefore do they beat someone else?  We talked about the IC title being the top title on Raw while Brock & the Universal Title is on the shelf.

Matt and I talked about the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble, Raw in Montreal, Quebec Canada, Owen Hart, the Mount Rushmore of Wrestling & Backlash.

Matt and I talked about this week in Wrestling and our predictions for the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV on the WWE Network.  

Matt and Shane talked 2018 Hall of Fame Ceremony, NXT Takeover in New Orleans, Wrestlemania 34 and more.   We discussed the upcoming "Greatest Royal Rumble PPV" upcoming next Friday & Shane predicted that the Undertaker will wrestle at least once more at next years Wrestlemania 35.  

The week before Wrestlemania 34.      Matt and Shane discussed Undertaker not yet accepting John Cena's challenge for a match at Wrestlemania, Rusev being added to the US title fatal 4 way and Daniel Bryan's 1st match back in almost 3 years.   We also talked about the 17 year anniversary of WCW ending and a possible Smackdown GM replacement being Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, Edge and Christian and Hulk Hogan as potential names being thrown around back stage.  

Shane & Matt talk "This Week in Wrestling" March 19th - March 25th.  Mark Henry being added to the 2018 Hall of Fame Class, Daniel Bryan being cleared to wrestle, Monday Night Raw, Smackdown Live, 205 Live, NXT and TNA Impact.
