22/08/2019 Duration: 12minHey guys, in this episode of the James Sinclair podcast I wanted to discuss the importance of getting your product, price and promotion correct so you can turn prospects into customers for your business. Always make sure the product is as good as it can be. We can't market a product or service that is poor because word of mouth is going to be your best form of marketing so make sure you give your customers something positive to talk about. Next is to ensure the price is value for money. We want your customers to feel like they have received more value than what they paid. This doesn't mean you have to be cheap. Just offer more value. Then we talk about promotion and how to tell the world about the amazing product and price in the right way that actually converts to sales. 09/08/2019 Duration: 09minI received a message on LinkedIn from someone sharing their pain about growing a business in the UK and how the VAT threshold was holding them back. I wanted to talk about how solopreneurs (those who don't employ) and grow their business and become entrepreneurs with a team. This comes back to one of my points in my letter to Boris Johnson about VAT and what changes could be made to help UK business owners. Many people avoid going past the VAT threshold because it will take 20% of their turnover which many small businesses can not afford, this then stops people growing the business and overall improving our economy. It all starts with a powerful vision, what do you ultimately want? In business for example, it's very much like a rollercoaster. You will have a lot of ups and downs along the way and it's going to get rough, there is no way to avoid it, that's life. However, if you have a vision with an end in mind you know exactly where you're going and can focus on the right path towards your success, whatever that may look like for you. Write your goals down when you start the day and when the sun goes down. Put a date on them and give yourself a deadline. I even have a list of my biggest goals for the year on my desk. I read them everyday. Most people only set short term goals, which is definitely better than none at all but make sure those short term goals align with your vision and end in mind so you ensure you stay on the right path. Business Competition and How To Protect Yourself

Here are some of my top tips; you simply can't avoid competition as it is what creates innovation. If you don't innovate you will evaporate. One way to stay ahead is to always be 10% better, make doing business with you 10% easier. Let's look at amazon for example, lots of people sell things online... but not at the efficiency and quality of service amazon provide. They are 10% (probably more) better than everyone else. Make yourself as high barrier to entry as possible. If someone says they want to open an 8 bedroom hotel thats fine, but that is also something another person could easily do. What about opening a 500 bedroom hotel with a lazy river flowing through it and the largest penthouses available... whatever the details may be.
