In this episode we spoke to scientist and entrepreneur Dr Jason Mellad about why businesses embracing diversity are setting themselves up for success, his coaching tips for innovators and how we could all be more inclusive. The fifth episode of Primary Care Talks is a medtech special featuring new technology being used to detect Atrial Fibrillation, a condition that could lead to stroke. It is estimated that over 400,000 people in the UK remain undiagnosed for AF. Dr Hasan Chowhan meets Caroline Prentice, a practice manager at Goldington Avenue Surgery in Bedford, and her colleague Emma Bowler a practice nurse, to give us an insight into how they have introduced this new technology at seven practices in the area.

In Podcast 4, Dr Chowhan meets St Albans GP and consultant Dr Steve Laitner to delve into some of Steve's innovative approaches to delivering more proactive primary care. Steve uses population management techniques to help create a more tailored approach that caters better for each individual patient's needs.

In podcast 3, Dr Chowhan discusses bringing first-of-a-kind genomic testing projects into primary care with Cambridge GP, Dr Alina Roser. Both GPs are currently running projects exploring how pharmacogenetic testing can benefit patients and improve the accuracy of prescribing.

In the second podcast our host, Dr Hasan Chowhan, chats to Dr Miles Langdon of Lakeside Healthcare about how he is making the NHS Primary Care Home model work in England’s largest GP super-partnership. Dr Langdon reveals helpful insights into how he is setting up his organisation to work more efficiently and productively for the 160,000 patients they support.
