The Podcast of Basketball Love returns for its fifth episode of the 2017-18 season, and our hosts -- Matt Martucci and Joe Tordy -- get joined by a pair of guests to talk about the latest goings-on in the City 6. Nearing the end of his year in Philadelphia basketball affectionately known as #PhillyHoops, Inquirer writer and columnist Mike Jensen joins the hosts first (6:50 mark) to share his thoughts on the season thus far and his experiences for his column, which have taken him all across Philadelphia -- as well as to Iceland, and a few other spots as well. Afterwards, Penn coach Steve Donahue checks in just past the 26-minute mark to discuss his 8-4 Quakers and the upcoming Ivy League slate.

Recently retired Daily News scribe Dick Jerardi calls in first to discuss his 30-plus year career covering basketball and more in the city, from the dominant La Salle teams of the late 80s and early 90s, through the Jameer Nelson Saint Joseph's squad of 2003-04 and up to the current Villanova dynasty. Afterwards, Drexel head coach Zach Spiker checks in to break down his Dragons' 5-5 start to the season. The hosts also discuss the other four teams in the city, including Villanova's dominance and injury issues with both St. Joe's and Drexel. The second episode of the re-launched Podcast of Basketball Love features a roundtable discussion of the City 6 preseason thus far with hosts Matt, Joe and Josh. The hosts discuss this past weekend's scrimmages and exhibitions, as well as continue to discuss the upcoming 2017-18 season. Also joining the podcast to talk City 6 NBA prospects is Elan Vinokurov of EV Hoops, a scouting service which boasts numerous NBA teams as well as European clubs amongst its clients.
