Sermon In The Valley

God has commissioned us to make disciples of the entire world. today we look into very popular scripture to see how we are to carry this mission to the world! Matthew 28:16-20 will really convict, encourage, and strengthen our trust in God for him to grace us to carry out his mission.

God is sovereign over all, and has ordained the future of everything. Yet He still desires our prayers. It’s important to know that He’s also ordained the means to the ends, which includes our prayers. Prayer and communion with the Father is so incredibly vital in our walk with Him.

Why pray? Ultimately all prayer and petition is means to an end: communion with God!

Jesus gives us the model to pray for the Kingdom of God to advance and for the Will of God to triumph over the will of man. It’s an important part of our daily prayer as it leads to the prayer of evangelism and gospel advancement.

Our God is personal, He’s our FATHER. His NAME is to be REVERED, or HALLOWED. And Jesus teaches that every prayer needs to remember these truths. Today begins the journey through the Lord’s Prayer, modeled by Jesus himself.

Jesus found high value in teaching His disciples how to pray. The Lord’s Prayer has been memorized, recited, and sung for centuries. But it’s far more than a prayer to recite. We unpack this in this mini-series within Luke.

We are a people that moves. We do, we serve, we are active. But how often to we simply rest in Jesus? The story with Mary and Martha is an instruction from the Lord to do just that!

Eternal life is inherited through perfect love. And it’s a perfect love that you cannot provide yourself. And Jesus explains it in a very well known parable about the Good Samaritan.

Jesus has JOY. And His joy is the result of the goodness of the Father in the form of His rescuing of sinners. Today’s text covers this idea of our Lord celebrating redemption!

The spreading of the Good News of the Gospel is the most important ministry the followers of Jesus have. Jesus orchestrates the command of evangelism in this text.
