Remember the "Good Ole Days", when life was simple? When fresh eggs were collected in the morning from the chicken coop, apples were hand picked from the orchard and warm milk was brought to the table fresh from the cow. Back when you would walk through the kitchen and the aroma of spices from grandma's pie would make your mouth water in anticipation. Back when recipes were handed down from generation to generation.   I didn't quite live back in the good ole days, but I do know the simplicity of making good homemade food. There is a joy and satisfaction that comes with knowing exactly what is in the food that sustains our bodies and our souls. I am a simple woman who has a passion for the culinary arts. Ever since I was young I have loved food and it only increases as the years go on. Food is such a part of who I am. This incredible young woman is changing the world through her music. That defining moment in my life happened in early 1995. I quit my job, got a passport and left town – 23 years old and I'd never been outside my country. Not only did I know little to nothing about where I was going (South Korea), I had zero knowledge about the thing I would be doing there (teaching English). What I did have was a sense of curiosity and a strong desire for something "different". After 3 years in the financial services industry, I was sick of working with faceless money. As a child, I had a beautifully rural upbringing, initially inspired by my mother's knowledge of gardens and nature, I had a childhood full of flowers and grasses freshly picked from the garden and fields, as well as experiencing the English countryside's most beautiful seasonal changes. A group of strangers walked into a room in LA. One by one they stood up, shared their most private thoughts, struggles, and desires. To many this sounds terrifying but, after seeing a spoken word open mic, Micah was hooked. That day he decided to give spoken word poetry a try. It worked. Like most kids growing up in Long Beach during the 90s, Micah was raised under the influence of hip hop. He regularly memorized rap lyrics from his favorite songs. But it wasn't until college when he started writing his own music; starting with hip hop and then branching out into the blues. Micah is a creative man of faith. In addition to performing poetry and music, he often speaks and teaches on creative writing, pursuing justice, and the way of Jesus.
