Synopsis

An online radio show ARCHIVE that is geared toward survivors of any trauma. We are all a survivor or secondary survivor of something; whether it's sexual abuse, domestic violence, chronic illness or cancer, P.T.S.D., Mental Illness, grief...ect, and it is important to understand that we are not alone. We can heal and bring awareness to some of the most personal issues facing this world today.Ginger & Haullie touch on certain topics in these archived broadcasts. Listen to special guest interviews, poetry readings, inspirational music, authors, announcements on festivals, host topic discussions for listeners to call in to, and so much more!!     This week, Ginger will be talking to Lanaia Lee about her upcoming book "Of Atlantis," which is the first book in a 5 book series. After suffering and surviving a stroke at age 35 due to high blood pressure. Her disease is called erratic hypertension. Ever since the stroke, Lanaia has been in a wheelchair, but she hasn't let that stop her one bit! In Lanaia's own words, "I still rock and roll, and I mean literally roll!" Lanaia has also lost six children due to her problem with blood pressure, leaving her with no living children, except for her four-legged friend. He is her baby and constant companion. She has been married to a wonderful husband for fourteen years, who is also in a wheelchair, but they live totally independently. Although according to Lanaia, "This factor does make life interesting! But we face each challenge with the help of God." Many of these girls are runaways, escaping a life of domestic violence only to become the victims of "pimps" who prey on their vulnerability.     About 3% of American men, or 1 in 33 men, have experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime. 1 in 3 boys will experience some form of sexual abuse or molestation before the age of 18. In 2003, 1 in every ten rape victims were male. 2.78 million men in the U.S. have been victims of sexual assault or rape. Let us end the cycle of silence for all men!
