Dr. Charles Samuels is a board certified sleep physician with primary research interests focused on understanding the prevalence and effects of sleep disturbances in specialized populations. His aim is to facilitate both broad and individualized clinical treatment strategies and foster effective knowledge transfer initiatives in these groups.Dr. Charles Samuels is the Medical Director of the Centre for Sleep & Human Performance in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada who has served as the Vice President Clinical of the Canadian Sleep Society and is the Chairman of the Alberta Medical Association Insomnia Clinical Practice Guideline Committee. Dr. Samuels is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. He is a well-respected medical educator who speaks internationally on topics related to sleep health and human performance.

As an officer, firearm instructor and the host of his very own podcast, Firearms Nation, Arik knows a thing or two about proper gun control. Doug Pflug turned 54 a few weeks ago and wants everyone to know that he's doing okay. His body might be 54 but his passion and mind is still in its early 20's. This episode has some inspirational storytelling from Doug, including the discouragement one teacher gave him, and he advice his father taught him when he was in grade 7 that shaped who he is today. Doug  also recounted his last days in grade 12 when he last spoke to a classmate who would perish in the 1985 Air India bombing. It was that incident that Doug knew he would work in policing. Lee Patterson is a Staff Sargent within Vancouver Police assigned to the Real Time Intelligence Centre Operations. He has experience of policing in two countries and across 4 cities. In this episode we spoke to Lee about his experience working in England, where up until 1992, police officers rarely carried a firearm.
