Human Trafficking and Porn
25/03/2019 Duration: 32minIn Ep. 5 of the H.E.Y. Girl! Podcast we discuss human trafficking and pornography with Human Trafficking Advocate Cindy Baney, and how it affects our young girls. This is a topic that is not discussed enough. Here are some facts to think about: 64,000 missing black women and girls in the US, and the media doesn't seem to be concerned. Between 14,500 and 17,500 people are trafficked into the U.S. each year. Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year. On another subject we discuss our girls and pornography. Most girls are introduced to porn at the age of 10 and are addicted by 14. We only get to touch the surface, but this is a great podcast to learn some basic facts on these issues. If you know of or you yourself are being trafficked please call 1-888-373- 7888 or text HELP to 233733

Ep. 2 - Renay Achille- Teen Pregnancy Pt. 2 of Series
01/02/2019 Duration: 56minIn our second part to our conversation on teen pregnancy, we are talking to Renay Achille, she is in her late 50's and gives us her story of her, not one, but two teen pregnancies and how she was able to make it with very little support from her family. Renay has a fascinating story as she talks about growing up poor, or "PO" as she calls it on the Southside of Chicago in the '70. Renay is a Christian woman who fully relied on God during her experiences. One of the take aways is that we need to communicate better with our teens and if you are a teen or young adult, talk, ask questions, don't be afraid, because most of the older women you run into may have and more than likely have been through the same things you are going through. I hope you enjoy.
