ComixBrew Episode #207: A Georgetown BBQ. Recorded on 5-20-2017. It's a special episode this week. Not only are we lucky enough to have a couple friends from Georgetown Brewing stop by, but Chris from ComixBrew's past shows back up as well. The folks from Georgetown brewing were nice enough to bring us a few different beers. We got to drink some 9lb Porter, Manny's, Lucille IPA, and a Bodhizafa IPA. So lots of good tastes in our mouths. The group also does a review of Secret Empire #2, and that's it. No other reviews this week. Small amount of news regarding DC and their Doomsday Clock, but that's also it for news this week. ComixBrew Episode #206: For All the Super Moms. Recorded on 5/12/2017. It's a very special episode of ComixBrew this week. This week we celebrate moms everywhere with a Mother's Day themed episode. Before the news we get a very amusing story from Josh, which comes back into play at the end of the episode. As far as news goes this week, well there is a lot of casting news. We discuss 2 actresses who have been cast into the new X-Men movie. As well as a returning cast member for Luke Cage season 2. There's good news for all you Agents of Shield fans. It has been renewed for another season!!! Marvel is having a HUGE sale on a lot of trades for the coming weeks. So if  you have holes in your collection, now  is the time to think about filling them. Lastly, listen to Tyler get a little too excited over the announcement of a new R-rated Hellboy movie. The guys also give their individual reviews of Bug! Adventures of The Forager #1, Star Wars, Screaming Citadel #1, and Star Trek / Green Lantern: Stranger Worlds #6.

ComixBrew Episode #205: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Recorded on 5/6/2017. That's right, it's time for another episode of ComixBrew!!! Come join Josh, Tyler, and a very sleepy Adam as they discuss all kinds of neat things. Neat things like the Eisner award nominations, and there is a lot of quality nominated this year. Are you a young reader? Well if so, I'm not exactly sure how you found us, but you should be excited about DC launching a new imprint in 2018 aimed directly at young readers. It's also a very sad day for Redhook, as they have announced the closer of their Woodinville brewery. The guys also give a group review of Secret Empire #1, and boy is it a doozy. They also give their individual review of Iron Fist #3, Batman #22, and Walking Dead #167. C2E2 is over and done with and there are a couple of juicy news stories coming out of the convention. Specifically DC's Dark Matter in June and Marvel's Legacy in Fall of 2017. Hulu has a new documentary premiering May 6th called Batman & Bill, and promises to be interesting. Comics this week are: Batman #21, Secret Empire #0, and God Country #4. ComixBrew Episode #202: Controversy Aboard The USS ComixBrew. Recorded on 4-15-2017. ComixBrew is back to get your week started!!!! The controversy continues with one of Marvel's, now former, artists. It's not looking good for this guy in the ways of continuing in western comics. There is also a couple of large casting announcements this week. One of which is Dolph Lundgren joining the cast of Aquaman. The other being that Thanos was cast as Cable for the Deadpool sequel. The guys did decide to save the two best stories for the end of the news. One is the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, and the other is the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer. Oh hot damn!  The guys also give their personal reviews of Black Panther and The Crew #1, Deadpool vs The Punisher #1 and Green Valley #7. The show ends with the hosts of this wonderful podcast trying to come up with their own controversy for the comic world. With no surprise, it gets a little out of hand. Comixbrew Episode #201; Spotlight on Andrea Romano. Recorded on 4-8-2017 After celebrating 200 wonderful episodes, it's back to business as usual for episode #201. This week the whole crew dives head first into the world of comic books, only resurfacing for air once they have something worth talking about, and there is a lot worth talking about this week. Mostly things coming from Marvel. Or rather not coming from Marvel. One of which being no large events for 18 months after the end of Secret  Empire. Which I think we can all agree is a great idea. However one of Marvels artists did not have a good idea when it came to some of the easter eggs he drew into X-men Gold #1. However, you will have to listen to find out what those easter eggs are. The guys also give their personal reviews of X-men Gold #1, Iron Fist #2 and Black Cloud #1. The show ends with a spotlight on Andrea Romano. So in honor of such a tremendous occasion, the guys decide to celebrate with more than just beer! Well a couple of them do anyways. The beer this week is a birthday present from the lovely people at George Town Brewing, and it is some mighty tasty beer. There are a few quick news stories this week, but the lovely hosts end up running with them and getting a bit silly. Also, as a group, the guys review Green Lantern / Space Ghost crossover. There's a new distribution company getting ready to take on Diamond Distribution. In honor of Iron Fist coming out, Marvel is running a deal for new customers of Marvel Unlimited. This week Josh welcomes Steven Andrews and Aaron Feldman of Toronto Comics. The two are working with their team on their latest Kickstarter campaign for their fourth anthology collection. These collections showcase the brilliance and community of Toronto and the creators who call the city there home. ComixBrew Reads Old Man Logan. Recorded on 2/24/2017. ComixBrew Reads is back for another session of expertise and literary goodness. This time around join Adam, Tyler, Jon (from Waiting4Players), and Josh as they get hyped for the release of Logan by reading Old Man Logan written by Mark Millar and drawn by Steven McNiven. The guys do their best to come up with the most accurate voices for this time in Logan's life after he's decided not to pop his claws. You'll have to judge it for yourself.
