  • 66: Stronger than the Struggle

    15/12/2017 Duration: 12min

Have you ever been in a spiritual situation that has left you more confused than empowered? In this Podcast episode, I share a story of the first time I witnessed something spiritual happen. I talk about how it left me confused and terrified. It wasn’t until I started to read and study the idea of spiritual battles that I was reminded of this moment. Many of us have experienced things like this happen, and people have shut it down. Our spiritual battle was never meant to be fear-driven and something we can’t talk about. We were born into battle. We must understand that we can't be ignorant of the enemy's schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). When we decide to live for Christ, we are stronger than any struggle we will ever face. Does this mean we will never face any struggles? No, because we still live in a fallen world. But why does He allow all these struggles? God in his mercy does not interrupt our free-will because controlling love is not real love. No one is immune to the struggle, but our firm foundation in

  • 65: It Gets Harder Before It Gets Easier

    12/12/2017 Duration: 09min

Sometimes in life things actually get harder before they get easier. It doesn't always mean you're going in the wrong direction when things feel off. Radical change happens sometimes as our situation gets worse. The beautiful lesson in all of this is that God always has a redemptive plan in mind. He already has a beautiful future set out for us, we might just have to wait a little longer than we might have thought. • 64: 5 Keys to a Peaceful December

    06/12/2017 Duration: 28min

In this Podcast episode Havilah shares some thoughts on how to navigate your December. The more you have going on, the more critical it is to have a strategy. There is a downside of December and the feelings it provides. A lot of us have expectations that come with Christmas-time, but the reality is completely different. Havilah gives you 5 keys to a peaceful December Admit you have expectations. If you do not admit it, you will feel more and more disappointed when reality hits you. This is called maturity. What are you expecting and what are your limitations? What is most important to you? What feeling do you want to have during this season? Sometimes these are two different things. Schedule things to facilitate your feelings. What can you do to connect with your people, God and yourself? Set expectations for others. You need to get in a place of throwing things, not always catching. People have expectations, but if you know you can’t do it all, you have to say no. Consider January. You cannot ignore Janu

  • 62: Work With Me

    18/10/2017 Duration: 09min

Today on the podcast I talk about the hard work that comes with change. It’s fall and the right season for change, shift and new beginnings. I am still in the thick of transition as you might know if you have been following this podcast. In this episode I talk about how we often wish that what God asks us to do is magically easy and doesn’t require any effort. But the truth is, sometimes doing life is just hard and not fun. With change comes hard work, adjustment and a different way of thinking, a process. The acknowledgment of it being hard does not make us weak but normal and human. It’s not a definition of our purpose but a reality. I love Psalm 90:17 in the Passion Translation, it says “O Lord, our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us and give us favor. Come work with us, and then our works will endure. And give us success in all we do!” We want favor not just our own effort. We want to come and have God’s sweet beauty resting upon us. I know this is going to be work and it’s not going to be an e

  • 59: The Secret to Pleasing God

    12/09/2017 Duration: 11min

Today on the podcast Havilah is coming to you from Brazil! We’re staying on the topic of transition as many of you have been responding to these podcasts saying that they have helped you through your transition. Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” Without faith, it is impossible to please God. It is impossible to please God by living a life worthy of the calling you have received (Ephesians 4:1) without living in faith. Living with the assurance of the things we have not yet seen is truly pleasing to God. You know that this is what you’re supposed to do, and you’ve gone far enough that you can’t go back but if we don’t have the right balance, the right effort and the right momentum we won’t make it, we will fall over. Many of us are right in the middle. We’re not going back; we’re not in the full calling and momentum of what the next season holds but being in that spot is FAITH. Faith is that space of what we once knew and what we know

  • 58: Keeping the Transition Clean

    05/09/2017 Duration: 17min

Today on the podcast, Havilah and Ben continue talking about transitions. You can’t force transition, and if you make something happen while depending more on your strength than on Gods, you will always wonder if you made it happen or if God did. He cannot lead us if we are not walking. Sometimes it’s trying to see if the door will open and we can walk through it rather than waiting around. God will be gracious enough to shut the door if it’s not the right way. Our motives must be open to hearing what God is saying. We shouldn’t try and make things happen ourselves, but we also shouldn’t be fearful of making a mess. Life comes in assignments. We might have big dreams or are in pursuit of figuring that dream out but whatever we are doing right now is our assignment. It’s not our identity, and we don’t become more valuable by entering into the next season. Being obedient to our next assignments helps us connect the things we don’t understand. Try to keep the process clean, keep the transition clean. And w

  • 57: The Why Behind the What

    28/08/2017 Duration: 17min

In this podcast, I share about some big changes happening in our lives. About a year ago, God began to speak to me while my life was in full-throttle. My husband and I had four boys and were running two organizations. I was writing, traveling, and speaking, and I had a whole team of people helping me make it all happen. The Holy Spirit challenged me to back things down a little and add space in my life. He challenged me to get back to the original “yes” I felt in my heart when I first signed up to serve Him. I can’t wait to share more on this topic with you in future podcasts or blog posts. Transition is all a part of God’s master plan to move you forward and help you walk in your true calling. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/havilah-cunnington/support

  • 56: Normals of Transition

    21/08/2017 Duration: 12min

Today Havilah talks about transition, about knowing when it’s time for change. Some people like to jump the gun when it comes to transition and other people sit in transition until someone kicks them out the door. This podcast will give you some ideas of when to know it’s time for transition. It’s interesting because the moment one jumps into transition questions rise up about whether it was a mistake and this is completely normal. You can be doing all the right things and be spiritually growing in the Lord, but then suddenly you can feel fear. It’s important to know not to buy into fear. The Bible says that it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6) which means it is impossible to live a life of pleasing God without living in an extra reality of the natural. Just because you feel fear doesn’t mean you are going in the wrong direction. Fear can mean you are going in the right direction. If you want to follow the calling and purpose that’s on your life, you’re going to have to figure ou

  • 55: Give It Time

    04/08/2017 Duration: 11min

In this episode, I talk about a pattern I use in my life consistently. It’s for those seasons when I’m trying to hear from God for something. I don't know about you, but there are seasons where I'm just waiting on God to answer me. There are things in life that you have to let happen. Often we have to give things time to work themselves out. Sometimes things come through time. I want to encourage you with Psalms 25:5: “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; For you, I wait all the day long.” I love that thought that He is leading us into truth, He’s teaching us, He’s the God who will save us, but sometimes we will have to wait all the day long! God wants you to realize that this is part of the process and we can’t rush the hand and the voice of God; we can only be available for it when it comes. So whatever season you are in, have you given it some time? Have you sat with it? Are you continuing with your daily life? And are you available when God wants to give it to you?

  • 54: Three Steps to Stop Worry

    06/07/2017 Duration: 14min

The Holy Spirit reminded me to not worry about tomorrow’s problems. You can't solve them today. Every time I think about something that worries me, it’s usually about things that are happening tomorrow. They’re happening in the future. Matthew 6:34 says “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. In this episode I share my three best techniques for worry: 1. Turn your thoughts into prayers. Thank Him, that He is already working on your tomorrow. "Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns." Philippians 4:6 2. Ask yourself what the worst thing is that could happen. Think about what the enemy has been holding over your head. And then define what success means to you. Perfection is not success. Success is being obedient to Christ. 3. Use the word “I don’t”

  • 53: The Best Thing You Can Do Right Now

    12/06/2017 Duration: 13min

Did you know that how you begin something is important, but how you end something is just as important? Being faithful to God doesn’t mean staying in one place. It’s understanding that we have assignments and that our identity isn’t based on those assignments. Our assignments change, but our identity doesn’t. Galatians 6:9 says “And let us not grow weary in well-doing”. The Bible wouldn’t say that, if we didn’t have the tendency to grow weary, it’s a human condition. What assignment are you looking at today? Are you honoring and loving that? Everything you are doing today is preparation for tomorrow. *To learn more about the online course on discovering your Prophetic Personality and growing in hearing God's voice, visit: truthtotable.com/prophetic-personalities Find Havilah on social media: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/mrshavilah/ - Instagram: www.instagram.com/havilahcunnington/ - Twitter: twitter.com/mrshavilah --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/havilah-cunnington/su

This past month has been full with traveling, and I wanted to share one of the greatest secrets of being on the road and being in new environments. I’ve been on the road for 20 years now, and I’ve realized that people often assume that they’re coming into a new community to change things, but I don’t go that direction. • 51: Living Emotionally Whole

    27/04/2017 Duration: 27min

Today on the podcast I have a special guest to share with you; my friend, Josh Cearbaugh. We have built a friendship over the past four years and have seen each other’s families grow and thrive in many ways. Josh is a Life Consultant who leads people through internal transformation; connecting people to their heart, identifying areas where they find themselves stuck, and creating practical strategies to transition us to a place of thriving. Oftentimes, the places where we get stuck are the very places God wants to give us the most freedom so we can help others who are stuck in the same environment. Josh shares how he walked through a season where he didn’t give his emotions a place in his life; they had no value and were pushed aside. During this time, he didn’t know how to care for himself emotionally or process through pain; it resulted in an emotional and physical breakdown that manifested through a lack of safe environments. He decided that he could either stay in that place or climb out of the pit.
