    04/02/2020 Duration: 10min

If you are on a mission, you are unstoppable. You do something until you succeed. And if you try something that doesn't work, you say, 'Next', and try something else.

  • Episode 337: You never know how far reaching...

    28/01/2020 Duration: 13min

Is the next child you are adjusting going to be the President of the United States in 40 years? Do you know what sort of effect your adjustments today may have on the future? We need to take care of each and every patient as if they might be the next big influencer, because who knows, they just might be!

  • Episode 336: Are you studying chiropracTIC?

    21/01/2020 Duration: 21min

How are you studying chiropractic? Are you reading textbooks? Class notes? National Board reviews? All that is great and necessary to pass classes and boards, but where are you learning chiropracTIC? Where are you getting the philosophy of chiropracTIC? You've got to study chiropracTIC! Read BJ Palmer's 'Green Books', listen to podcasts like this one or Sigafoose, go to philosophy seminars, and 'talk it down' with fellow students and docs.

  • Episode 335: Why the Polyvagal Theory is so revolutionary

    14/01/2020 Duration: 17min

Learning about the Polyvagal Theory by Dr. Stephen Porges has truly revolutionized the way I look at children, especially those children that are on the Autism spectrum. The Polyvagal Theory shows us how we have evolved over time to be more social, and also shows us why children or adults with Autism have problems with socialization. The vagus nerve is so much more than just 'rest/digest'...it is critical in social engagement.

  • Episode 334: Are we evolving as a species?

    07/01/2020 Duration: 55min

Darwin talked about survival of the fittest in the 1800's, rocking the world with his theory of evolution. What are we witnessing today? Is humanity evolving? Certainly our technology is, but the real question is, are we? Are we as a species called Homo sapiens truly evolving or are all the trappings of modern society causing us to de-evolve?

  • Episode 333: The 3rd Alternative

    30/12/2019 Duration: 24min

What happens when you are in a situation where there seems to be 2 possibilities, but neither looks favorable? Dr. Stephen Covey would teach, "There has to be a 3rd alternative." Dr. Rubin explains how chiropractic was the 3rd alternative in one of his favorite cases (permission granted to use this case), and how you can use the 3rd alternative in your lives.

  • Episode 332: Old vs. New

    23/12/2019 Duration: 42min

Even though some of the original chiropractic textbooks were written 100 or more years ago, there are still lots of gems in each one. DD and BJ Palmer were way ahead of their time and if they were still around today, you know they would be doing cutting edge research. Enjoy the holidays!

  • Episode 331: Hard Easy vs Easy Hard

    17/12/2019 Duration: 13min

"Hard easy." You have a lofty goal, based on your mission and vision, and create an action plan to achieve it. This requires a lot of up front work, but in the end, your efforts pay off. "Easy hard." You have no aim in life, no goals, action plans, and just kind of do whatever comes your way. This is way easier up front, but later on, it is much more challenging since you are more likely to be unprepared. Which path do you choose?

  • Episode 330: Zombie apocalypse

    10/12/2019 Duration: 08min

Movement is everything. Even BJ Palmer wrote about it in the 1950's. Yet how different life is now, 70 years later. We spend most of our lives sitting...sitting at work, while driving in cars, while watching Netflix or playing games on our phones. Has our modern way of living created a version of the zombie apocalypse that we read about in World War Z or watch on The Walking Dead? It's just a different way of killing off our brain cells.

  • Episode 329: Learning a lesson

    03/12/2019 Duration: 15min

Dentistry in the mid 1900's was a second rate health field. They created a strategic plan to change their image and in 50 years proved their plan was a rousing success. Modern dentistry is an incredible field with multiple specializations and incredible market growth in every sector. What is chiropractic planning for the next 50 years? The same as the last 125? What's our strategic plan? Here's one thought, originally recorded in 2014 at Life Vision.

  • Episode 328: How did you get here?

    26/11/2019 Duration: 12min

Did you ever look back at the events of your life, and see how all the pieces that didn't make sense at the time actually got you here? Dr Rubin explains how his original career path took a sharp turn during his junior year of college when he had a profound life-shaping experience. What's your story?

  • Episode 327: Magical adjustments

    19/11/2019 Duration: 12min

Chiropractic is magic! Small victories is what it is all about. What we are about is changing brains not changing backs. Let's teach our practice members and teach our students and teach our staff what to expect and that when the brain changes, everything changes!

  • Episode 326: Chiropractic in a salutogenic model

    12/11/2019 Duration: 07min

What is salutogenesis? In a phrase: you can always improve your health and wellness. In a recent magazine article, the writer was surprised by some of the benefits people were reporting under chiropractic care, stating that chiropractors treated various illnesses and ailments. What the writer doesn't know is that chiropractors don't 'treat' injuries, sicknesses, or problems. We take care of people! We are in the people business, leading them towards wellness, then keeping them that way!

  • Episode 325: Joy in Chiropractic!

    05/11/2019 Duration: 09min

There is no better feeling than to see children in my office having a great time, laughing, giggling, and being surprised that they can have fun in a 'doctors office.' Our annual Halloween Bash is such a day for us, where we go all out for the kids and they just have the greatest time. I purposely step back during this party and capture moments of the commotion, the happiness, the feeling of joy in chiropractic!

  • Episode 324: Lyme Disease & PANDAS

    29/10/2019 Duration: 49min

Lyme disease and PANDAS (pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with Strep)are becoming way more common than ever before, part of a growing trend of autoimmune issues that include emotional or behavioral changes. Every parent who complains that their child had a sudden shift in behavior needs to be questioned about an illness or insect bite prior to the onset of changes. This is an almost hour long talk given to the Life U ICPA Club.

  • Episode 323: Yesterday & Tomorrow

    22/10/2019 Duration: 14min

Question: What would the world's reaction be if tomorrow, we all woke up and chiropractic ceased to exist? This thought came from watching the recently released movie, Yesterday, in which the world somehow lost its memory of The Beatles. As Reggie Gold often said, "if you were the last chiropractor on the planet, would it survive?" These are profound questions that we try to tackle in this episode.

  • Episode 322: Remembering Dr. Jeanne Ohm

    15/10/2019 Duration: 10min

The chiropractic profession lost a great hero recently when Dr. Jeanne Ohm left this earthly plane. She was a friend, mentor, leader, warrior, and champion of women in chiropractic. She took the ICPA from a small group when Dr. Webster passed away in 1997 to over 6000 members, the largest non-political chiropractic group on the planet. Dr. Jeanne's last talk at Life University was in December 2018 and so many students and docs commented to me that she made them laugh and cry. One student said, "Her passion was so palpable. I was slipping away from the principle and she brought me back." She will be missed. We love you Jeanne.

    08/10/2019 Duration: 09min
