Episode 440: This is the Biggest Idea I Know Of
18/01/2022 Duration: 18min"Get the Big Idea...all else follows" said BJ Palmer. Chiropractic is the biggest idea I know of. Sure, when patients come into your practice or clinic, they potentially will experience amazing results. But what about you, the chiropractor or chiropractic student? As Larry Webster said, if you go deep into chiropractic, it will share all its secrets with you. Go deep! Read Green Books. Study philosophy. Serve the people. Adjust more kiddos!

Episode 439: The hardest part about dealing with kids
11/01/2022 Duration: 28min"What is the hardest part about dealing with kids?" is a question asked recently, and so began a series of queries relating to creating a thriving pediatric and prenatal based practice.

Episode 438: Verticalization
04/01/2022 Duration: 34minVerticalization? It is the goal of the brain in an infant's 1st year of life. Get the body from the horizontal plane to the vertical plane in 1 year, through a series of developmental milestones that take the baby from non-mobile to mobile. That 1st year, that verticalization, is critical to happen in very a specific order in a very specific time sequence. The next goal of the brain after verticalization is communication (from age 1-2), and then from age 2-3 the brain's goal is socialization. You can see how a disruption in any of these 3 can create a cascade of effects to the growing child.

Episode 437: Autism Rates Go Up, Again!
28/12/2021 Duration: 23min1 in 10,000. 1 in 44. Those are the rates of Autism in the 1970's vs the rates of Autism in 2021 (just released by the CDC)! That is close to a 100% increase in 50 years! Dr Rubin passionately discusses the concept of Neurodiversity...accepting kids (and adults) where they are in their social communication abilities. People with Autism are not disabled...they are differently-abled. Some people with Autism are not non-verbal...they are minimally speaking. Accept people where they are not where 'society' says they should be!

Episode 436: Concussion Of Forces
21/12/2021 Duration: 14minConcussion of forces? When one force meets another force, the stronger force will prevail. This is how an adjustment works. The 'force' of the subluxation (its resistance or inertia) meets the 'force' of an adjustment (not a forceful adjustment...a specific adjustment applied with the perfect amount of force needed for that specific person). If the 'force' is applied precisely and with focus, then the patient benefits and the subluxation is reduced. As BJ Palmer said, "it is as simple as that!"

Episode 435: How are you guarding the philosophy?
14/12/2021 Duration: 12min"Responsibilities are many, obligations are providential...you have in your possession a sacred trust. Guard it well." BJ Palmer's famous quote from the last book that he published while still alive rings in my ears every day. What are we doing to 'guard it well?'

Episode 434: Another School Shooting???
07/12/2021 Duration: 13minThere have been almost 300 school shootings since Columbine in 1999, according to the Washington Post. What no story really talks about is how the underlying problem with school shooters is their brain. Something has GOT to be wrong with their brain to do what they do. What we HAVE to do as pediatric chiropractors is to help repair kids brains. That is my mission. Help fix disconnected kids brains and nerve systems!

Episode 433: We get questions...
30/11/2021 Duration: 23minBeing in practice for over 30 years gives one a unique perspective. I used to be so amazed at the 'old-timers' and now I am one of them! Being faculty at Life University, having had over 75 Life U interns in my office since 2010, and speaking for the ICPA allows me to meet a lot of chiropractors and chiropractic students, and I am blessed to be able to answer the same questions I myself asked back in my rookie years.

Episode 432: One simple and single idea...
23/11/2021 Duration: 13minOne simple and single idea can change the world. Newton, Einstein, Edison, Ford, the Wright brothers, all changed the world with their ideas! So did DD Palmer when he gave his first adjustment on Harvey Lillard in 1895. And his simple, single idea was not the adjustment of the spine, since that has been done for thousands of years. DD Palmer's new idea was the concept that chiropractic is "founded on tone." DD Palmer was already speaking neurology 126 years ago!

Episode 431: Map of Consciousness
16/11/2021 Duration: 15minWhat is your level of consciousness? Are you vibrating at a level of peace or joy (high levels) or vibrating at fear or shame (lower levels)? Where you vibrate will determine what you attract in your life. The law of attraction says, "what you think about, comes about." If that is true, Wayne Dyer told us, then we 'better be careful what we think about!' Map from Power vs Force, book by Dr. David Hawkins.

Episode 430: Climate Change & Chiropractic
09/11/2021 Duration: 13minClimate change and chiropractic? A recent article in Lancet gave disturbing details to what we already know about climate change, but even more disturbing was that it failed to truly describe the toll on our children. Our children are directly impacted by climate change and are sicker and have more neurological issues than ever before, but so are their parents and caregivers! Chiropractic can help kids by enhancing their neuroplasticity and that of their parents! Article link: https://www.lancetcountdownus.org/2021-lancet-countdown-us-brief/

Episode 429: What the brain thinks is normal...
02/11/2021 Duration: 13minWhen our practice members come in with postural issues like high shoulders, high hips, or forward head tilts, are we telling them that their brain thinks this is normal? That when they wake up in the morning, their bodies shift into this posture because that has been patterned into them? How to interrupt this pattern? Chiropractic and functional neurological exercises!
-
Episode 428: What's your 'jam'?
26/10/2021 Duration: 17minWhat's your 'jam'? What is your "that something" that drives you, that gets you up in the morning? There are unlimited possibilities of "that something's" out there. There is something greater out there, waiting for all of us, that will hook you and keep you passionate and excited. BJ Palmer says, "Find that something!"

Episode 427: Founded on Tone
19/10/2021 Duration: 19minChiropractic is founded on tone, as DD Palmer said back in 1910. The nerve system can be likened to a musical instrument. Is it in tune? If not, then it can be tuned up! You can pull out the Fender guitar tuning app and make sure each string is the right tune, otherwise the songs don't sound right. That's what we chiropractors do...tune up our patient's nerve systems so that they are at the ideal frequency for improved health.

Episode 426: Disruptive Pediatrics Continued...
12/10/2021 Duration: 21minBe disruptive! Break a pattern. Interrupt your normal day-to-day. Chiropractic was born out of disruption. DD Palmer had a disruptive thought to deliver the first adjustment! But then he wanted to keep chiropractic a secret...but BJ Palmer made chiropractic a worldwide disruptive factor! Be disruptive and tell the world about chiropractic!

Episode 425: Questions answered
05/10/2021 Duration: 27minThere's always an endless amount of questions from students about starting a practice, and Dr Rubin answers some very astute ones that relate to building a disruptive pediatric practice!
-
Episode 424: Ten Steps to Disruptive Pediatrics
28/09/2021 Duration: 48minTo disrupt is to be "innovative and groud-breaking." The path has been laid out for us by disruptive chiropractors like Dr. Larry Webster and Dr. Jeanne Ohm. They boldly led us to think not just outside the box, but to think as if there is no box at all! It is time for us to take their call to action and become disruptive pediatric chiropractors!
-
Episode 423: Are you connected to 'the sacred trust'?
21/09/2021 Duration: 13minWhat are you doing that is different? Are you connecting to what BJ Palmer called the "sacred trust?" This 'trust' is not determined by what your office looks like or your paperwork or your EHR. It is determined by you, answering this unspoken question from the parent who brought their kid in: will you take care of my kids like they are your own? Will they sense that from you and your staff?
-
Episode 422: The missing link
14/09/2021 Duration: 11minPre-Covid, approximately 12% of kids ages 4-17 were labeled as either depressed or had anxiety. Now those numbers in kids ages 4-17 have doubled, to 20% with anxiety and 25% with depression!. What is the missing link? How many of those kids are getting adjusted regularly? In pediatric chiropractic offices, we see that kids who are adjusted over the long term are overall healthier and less susceptible to illnesses and disorders!

Episode 421: "4000 Weeks"
07/09/2021 Duration: 12min"4000 Weeks." That's 80 years, about what the average life expectancy in the US is, and also the title of a newly released book. How will you spend your 4000 weeks? The book explains how time management is a fallacy. There is no such thing as work-life balance. Do you look up at night in awe of the stars and the moon? Do you watch the sun rising or setting and see that beauty? To me it is not as much about time management as about time wonderment.
