What happens is: we have a thought that creates a feeling. This feeling is neutral, but the mind will interpret it, label it, and create a story around it that doesn't have to be true. A certain energy can be intepreted by the mind -and by us- as bad tension or good excitement, in a different context. This means that we don't have to buy the story that our mind is telling us is true. And if we do this, we become open to the abundance that is everywhere.
