This week on Uncontained I talk with Pyrotechnica. They have already made a mark on the Tucson, Arizona scene. They formed in 2015 and have opened for the national band Entheos, and they were on Zia Record's compilation album "You Heard them Back When Vol.10," featuring top local bands from Tucson, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. This band was started with the sole purpose of entertaining, and writing fun music. This week on Uncontained I talk with San Francisco, CA, based recording artist and producer Razteria (aka Renee Asteria) can be described as a fusion of No Doubt and Bomba Estereo. Her multicultural background (USA/Bolivia/Netherlands) has had a profound influence on her musical journey. Happy New Year! Welcome to 2017 and Uncontained episode 47. This episode is a little different than other episodes of Uncontained. Episode 47 is a tribute to my former Program Director, Gregg Scharnau, most commonly known as “Shark.” On December 20th, Shark lost his battle with cancer making my radio family one smaller. Shark was a supportive boss. He let me interview local bands or comics to spotlight local talent. If there was a major band that came through he knew I was a fan of, he would send me to the show to do the meet and greet—or in some cases interview them, such as Corey Taylor from Slipknot. During my time at KRNA I recorded numerous spots (ads) for bands with the overemphasized radio announcer voice. I remember the day he gave my first non-concert spot for Penguin’s Comedy Club in Cedar Rapids, but told me “Static, I need you to record this spot for me but please don’t use the ‘I’m gonna kill you voice.’” Even after I left KRNA, Shark would put me on air from time to time, like if I was back in

This week I talk to Actress and comedian Sarah J. Halstead. You may have seen her on stage doing comedy or on TV in numerous commercials. She has acted in the crime re-enactment show, Deadly Sins, as well as Meet the Roommate—a movie she played the leading role in, and wrote and produced.
