July 1967: two young men driving along an Ohio road late one night encountered an object giving off an intense blue white glow. Their car apparently struck the object as it lifted away from the ground. Samples of a metallic substance, believed to be from the UFO, were retrieved the following morning by one of the witnesses. He later had two sets of strangers knocking at his door, the latter demanding the samples and threatening his family. In February 1967, the crew of a Faucett Airlines DC-4 reported being buzzed for an extended period of time by a UFO shaped like an inverted cone while on an evening flight from Piura to Lima. Shortly after the UFO departed, it momentarily returned with a second, identical object and proceeded to buzz the airliner again before vanishing for good. Military authorities questioned the crew and passengers, apparently confiscating photos taken of the object.
