To honor black history month we join our wrestlers and cheerleaders in Little Rock, Arkansas when they visited Central High School. Matt talks with members of the student council about the valentines day dance that took place on February 13. OSSB Podcast November 2019

OSSB hosted the first ever Delta Gamma day on November 19 so we will meet them and hear from students at all grade levels about their experience on DG day. Our students in fourth grade under the instruction of MS McCumber are preparing for the future. They are learning to code. Jobs in coding are on the rise according to Fast Company. In this episode we will travel down to the Kentucky School for the Blind with the Elementary for the Bill Roby games that happened on October 3rd. Students in our ILS department bring us to Links Lemonade and talk about what they had to eat and how to use a budget to plan a meal. This month our health classes did some research on health organizations which have significant impact on our community. We will learn about Women’s International Center - Honoring, Encouraging, and Educating Women Around the World (WIC), the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the World Health Organization. Each month we introduce a new staff member in our OSSB family and this month we meet our IEP coordinator Mrs. Welch. Our goalball team invited us to a practice and we catch up with some alumni from our championship team: Donald and Brandon. Our ILS department prepared many tasty treats to exchange with one another. Our art classes visited an art museum to check out the work of Queen Brooks. Some of our students sang Christmas carols at Wesley Glen retirement home, and the Columbus Northern Lions club returns to host its 60th holiday party for elementary students. Andre composed and produced a holiday story about how the Evil Mr. Kelley tries to steal Christmas. Principal Ransey talks about the representation of OSSB at the state house. Can Andre devour the Thurmanater? We will see. Our alumni focus this month is the group Innervision. We meet another hard working OSSB staff member who works at the front desk and all over campus. And who doesn’t love a good pancake breakfast? We hope you enjoy this month’s edition of the OSSB podcast.
