The non-profit organization empowers at-risk youth, including orphans who lost their parents through HIV/AIDS. Lila was part of the Xtending Hope program at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia Canada, where she received her BSc in Biology. She was then selected for the Youth In Partnership program at the Coady International Institute at StFX. The youth program is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency. She returned to Canada in mid-November 2011 to receive an award for her humanitarian work. During a visit to the Coady Institute, she sat down with host Richard Perry to talk about her Coady experience and her current work in Botswana.
