"A good woman will make the man happen". We explore examples of frontier women, who show through their actions, that men need a woman in order to be an effective covenant head. In their submission to proper headship, they "make the man happen".

Giving of thanks is far more than what we think. It is a thankfulness to even being part of God's plans, God's blessings. In this sermon Dr Sedlak pulls together Historical evidence to show that America was founded on Christianity, that God Himself surrounded America as it were with a shield. The very purchase of the Louisiana Territory by Thomas Jefferson was because America was Christian and the response of the World. As Alexis De Tocqueville pointed out "What makes America so great?"

Vengeance is mine, I will repay: sayeth the Lord. Very often we look at God's vengeance as being capricious and random. We don't look at the Lord's vengeance being part of our world view, our examination of the judicial nature of God's Character and how we are to have a solid understanding of it. As Peter the Apostle commends us "Think it not strange for the fiery trial that overtakes you", with a mind of Christ we learn to understand how God acts and how important His Vengeance is and how important is that we take it not upon ourselves to exercise vengeance outside of God's ordination of things. All these complexities are touched upon and show the import in History and through scripture of God's vengeance.

Many speak of the Great Awakening, and many know of George Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards, but few know of Theodorus Frelinghysen, who laid the groundwork for their ministries. Out of these ministries came a Phenomena known as a New Light, as Jonathan Edwards described it. This phenomena was an expression of a new life, a new way of living, a reinvigorated life in Christ. George Whitfield pointed out that "Christianity is in a great sleep; nothing but a great shout can awaken it!" Thus, began the Old Lights, the old guard, the pastors of the time being antagonistic to the preaching. Out of sprouted the bad fruit of the Transcendentalist Unitarian movement, that gutted the Christian faith and replaced it with a new gospel. This message shows how the Old Light movement was propelled into strength by non other than the Love of Money, as Dr Sedlak shows the errant side of money and its love in this series - on Money, Blood and Life.

The Ugliness of sin pokes its head out especially in the Church. Paul the Apostle along with James and others point out the fires that erupts when the tongue rips and tears a people. The shocking truth is that the love of Money is at the root. As Paul says "The Love of Money is the ROOT of ALL evil", we ought not to be surprised when great evils are present, money is at its root. When Christ says to each of His elect, the welcoming phrase "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into eternal rest.." the question may be in the back of all our minds, "What is a good and faithful servant?" In this series Dr. Wayne uses history to show a life well lived, and the impact, the characteristics and the devotion of the individual involved. Many in the world cannot deny the the Life Was Well Lived, as the impact of this individual, a biography if you will, has had lasting implications for Christianity, Freedom, Opportunity. The words of Christ ring true as He states "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

In this Part II series on "The Love of Money" Dr. Wayne Sedlak shows how Sampson was raised up, even before he was born, and was to be a Sign to Israel. This sign had everything to do with Sampson's demise and how the allures of life will draw us away with lies. As Christ pointed out about Satan, "He is a liar and a murderer from the beginning...." so will our hearts follow that path with money as its goal. Money is designed to establish God's covenant, however, when we despise that covenant and drag it through the mud, peculiar pointed things happen.
