Many speak of the Great Awakening, and many know of George Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards, but few know of Theodorus Frelinghysen, who laid the groundwork for their ministries. Out of these ministries came a Phenomena known as a New Light, as Jonathan Edwards described it. This phenomena was an expression of a new life, a new way of living, a reinvigorated life in Christ. George Whitfield pointed out that "Christianity is in a great sleep; nothing but a great shout can awaken it!" Thus, began the Old Lights, the old guard, the pastors of the time being antagonistic to the preaching. Out of sprouted the bad fruit of the Transcendentalist Unitarian movement, that gutted the Christian faith and replaced it with a new gospel. This message shows how the Old Light movement was propelled into strength by non other than the Love of Money, as Dr Sedlak shows the errant side of money and its love in this series - on Money, Blood and Life.
