Our Resurrection Hope: Raising Our Desire to Proclaim the Good News
25/05/2014 Duration: 33minAs Christians, at our core we are fundamentally resurrection people. We have real hope because we believe Christ is risen and evil and death are ultimately defeated. But our resurrection hope must be more than about us and our future. It should motivate us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with a world fundamentally hostile to God's truth but which is paradoxically starved for the truth. How else can we explain the plethora of false, man-made gods? But how do we proclaim the Good News to those who may not want to hear it? Check out what Fr. Maney has to say about it all and see what you think. Lectionary texts for today are Acts 17.22-31; Psalm 66.8-20; 1 Peter 3.13-22; John 14.15-21.

Maney begins a two-part series designed to show why we can believe that Jesus' resurrection really did occur and that God's promised new creation really has been launched. In this first part, Fr. Maney addresses common objections to the resurrection that have appeared in the form of competing theories. Next week he will present reasons why the NT teaching on the resurrection is trustworthy. Why Stories of Resurrection During Lent? Why Not?
