Episodes

  • Liberation and Sacrifice

    01/09/2013 Duration: 22min

Today Fr. Philip Sang talks about what God's freedom looks like and how Christians are to offer our sacrifices to God. When God liberates us, God frees us from our slavery to our sin so that we are free to live as truly human beings, the image-bearing people God created us to be, so that we can share God's healing and saving love with God's world that desperately needs to hear the Good News of Jesus and be healed. In living faithfully to God, we also offer God our sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving even as God uses us to bring in his kingdom on earth as in heaven. Check it out and see what you think. Lectionary texts today are Jeremiah 2.4-13; Psalm 81.1, 10-16; Hebrews 13.1-8, 15-16; Luke 14.1, 7-14.

    18/08/2013 Duration: 29min

Have you ever wondered why Jesus would tell us he came to bring division, even among families? Don't we call Jesus the Prince of Peace? What's up with that? And what's this baptism Jesus is talking about? What could it possibly have to do with anyone today who wants to follow Jesus? Then there's the whole issue of God's judgment on his people that we read in our lesson from Isaiah. What about that? Isn't God the God of love? Fr. Kevin Maney speaks to these issues and much more in today's sermon. Check it out and see what you think so that in the process you can be changed by God to make a difference for God. Lectionary texts today are Isaiah 5.1-7; Psalm 80.1-2, 9-20; Hebrews 11.29-12.2; Luke 12.49-56.
