Byron Bay local and international whale and dolphin activist Howie Cook about talks about his history of campaigns which he and colleagues including world renowned surfer Dave Rastovich have been undertaking as part of @surfers4cetaceans since the early 2000's to try and stop the slaughter of whales and dolphins worldwide. This included protesting at the international whaling commission in Norway, working with the See Shepard crew and captain . From bringing attention to and instigating worldwide coverage of the killing coves' in Japan in 2008 to great projects like the 'Whale Icon' project where Australian local councils adopted'' whales that passed by their towns to the 'Vision Project which saw world of people send their own visual of themselves of photos to stand up for saving whales. Howie 'whale' tales are inspiring and uplifting. Journalist Michelle Michels thoroughly enjoyed sitting in Howie's garden in north Byron being entertained with cups of dandelion coffee whilst listening to Howie’s adventures
