It's time for season two of Travel Channel's Making Monsters featuring Distortions Unlimited, the Colorado-based “haunt industry” animatronic and prop-making company run by Ed and Marsha Edmunds. Ed Edmunds created a revolutionary, rock style haunted house called Brutal Planet, lauded by Alice Cooper, creating such a buzz that Six Flags had Distortions duplicate it for 16 theme park locations across the country. He also invented an Electric Chair animatronic which has become a centerpiece for haunted houses from coast to coast. Edmund’s fascination with sci-fi flicks and television began as a teenager while living in rural Illinois. He studied Art Education at the University of Northern Colorado. Edmunds used his artistic abilities to make and sell high-quality masks, which eventually led to the creation of his company, Distortions Unlimited.
