It has been said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This is an absolutely true statement proving we all have a different belief about what we see. So let us challenge that the view of Black Men in America has taken on a certain appearance when being portrayed by movie, news, and media because of those that hold the keys to these expressions there is only 1 perspective of our world is seen. The movie Vantage Point, from 2008, is an excellent example of how Through the eyes and lives of different people a single event can be perceived as totally different. However, when you see multiple views at the same time a much clearer and real picture emerges. I believe that if Black Men wish to change the way we look to our children, our neighbors, and history we must gain a great control of these outlets to share a more diverse perspective to influence the narrative.
