Mark and Portland ended their 2016 league campaign in first, and advanced to the semi-finals in the NWSL Playoffs before losing to the eventual champions, Western New York Flash. Our discussion revolves around Mark's journey from England to the professional game in the United States. We focus on the culture that Mark has enhanced with the Portland Thorns, as well as the challenges in working with some players who are right out of college, and some players who are international stars and World Cup winners.
