Synopsis
In June 2012, President Obama issued an excutive order Called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA gives work, school, deporation relief to undocumented youth. DACA was issued after the failure of Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform. On Sept. 5, 2017. at the behest of current president, the Department of Homeland Security, initiated the phase out of DACA. DHS will provide a limited, six-month window during which it will consider certain requests for DACA and applications for work authorization, under specific parameters.
