In the holiday season, the relationship tensions that exist in families are often exacerbated. Even in the best of families, there are often relationship issues present between various family members. A family impacted by addiction are no exception. In fact, these tensions might even be more significant and pronounced, especially during the Holidays.  There are really no easy answers regarding the reality that these tensions might prohibit one loved one from attending a family function because of the potential participation of another. Because every family situation is different and unique, I cannot offer a clear, simple solution.  I can only share how our family is dealing with this very issue and why I am comfortable with our approach.
