Look Up! July 2021

Informações:

Synopsis

Royal Observatory Greenwich Astronomers Bryony and Patricia are here to tell you what to look out for in the night sky this July 2021 as well as a few astronomical news stories from June in our family friendly Look Up! podcast. This month Patricia talks about the newest images coming from Juno, NASA's mission to Jupiter, and what they are revealing about the largest moon of our Solar System, Ganymede, while Bryony discusses the recent dimming (and subsequent re-brightening) of the red supergiant Betelgeuse, sadly concluding that it was not a harbinger of supernovae. :( Juno images: https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/see-the-first-images-nasas-juno-took-as-it-sailed-by-ganymede Betelgeuse's dimming: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01526-6 Here is the link to our night sky highlights blog: www.rmg.co.uk/explore/blog/night…ghts-july-2021
