Dewan Bayney spent his childhood surrounded by the rhythms of Dancehall and Reggae where he got his start in percussive music. After having studied classical guitar for 7 years, Dewan found electronic music through Space Miami in 2008, and hasn’t looked back. Right now, Dewan is deejaying and producing obsessively, and continues to run his record label “Kontakt Records”, founded to spread the deep, proggy tech and tribal sounds that speak to him. “Music to me is the universal language that all walks of life can understand. it is a way of connecting communities of people together regardless of who they are.” Dewan goes on to note that the hours spent on the dancefloor allow people to be transported away from their everyday worlds and to connect as one. As he looks to the future, Dewan Bayney is producing and running his record label Kontakt Records full-time (having escaped the corporate lifestyle) and is gearing up for a big year. He has learned how to take his passion and turn it into a business.
