Murder On Our Minds

On October 31st, 1957, Peter and Betty Fabiano, were settling into bed after a long night of trick or treater's ringing their doorbell. Then, when their doorbell rang again, at 11 o’clock at night, Peter begrudging, but dutifully walked back to the door to offer up some Halloween sweeties to whom he expected would be a child.  Whilst Betty waited in bed, she heard Peter’s muffled comment “Isn’t it a little late for this” followed by a loud pop, and then squealing tires as a drove on.  Betty raced to Peter finding him sprawled on the floor, bleeding due to a gunshot to his chest. Although Betty called out for help and several officers arrived within minutes to the scene of the shooting.
