Daphne Matziarki has been recognized for her film "4.1 Miles", nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject and winner of the 2016 Peabody Award. #WPRO She was interviewed as she was recognized with the 2017 Pell Center Prize for Storytelling @PellCenter @pubstory In "4.1 Miles", Matziarki, a native of Greece, tells the heroic story of a Greek coast guard captain called upon to rescue refugees fleeing the war in Syria over the treacherous 4.1 mile passage in the Aegean Sea from Turkey to the Greek Island of Lesbos.
