I was at the mall today, just meandering, window shopping to pass some time. I was zoned out in my own world when all of a sudden I heard a kid just shouting and yelling at his mom. I kid you not, this kid said to his mother, “I hate you mom, you never get me anything that I want!” at this moment, his mom assured the kid that just last week, she bought him a brand new video game. The kid continues to throw a temper tantrum and act a fool. I continued to go about my business, until I encountered another mother and child scenario. This one irked me a little bit as well. In this scenario, a mother was talking to her daughter about how special she was and was just coddling the shit out of this girl. Now I’m all for positive reinforcements with your kids and all, but damn lady, your kid is not that special.
