Coach is on Fire

The Coach Coach Rich Hurley is the head basketball coach at Troy High. In just his second year as coach the team has made two appearances in the Section II AA championship game, with the most recent appearance resulting in a win. Last season the team had the option of dropping to Class A competition due to declining enrollment however, Coach Hurley embraced the challenge of being competitive at the Class AA level. Coach Hurley was named the 2013 coach of the year. A Motto It’s not what you teach it’s what you emphasize. Adversity The downs can make you stronger. In the second round of the sectional playoffs one of the teams best players went down with an ankle injury. As a coach you have to try and keep it together for your team. The key is telling the team that everything will be ok and keeping their minds on the task at hand. The team came together and won the game and made it all the way to the championship game.
