Dr Paula J Olsiewski is the Program Director at the Alfred P Sloan Foundation and created and directs the Foundation's programs in Microbiology of the Built Environment and Chemistry of Indoor Environments. She sat down with Adam Hoffberg just before the start of the DoD Microbiome Conference in Colorado Springs to discuss how the Sloan Foundation got involved in this exciting field and where she thinks the research might lead.
