Ian Green first met the Dalai Lama in the late 1970s, when he shared with the Tibetan spiritual leader an idea to build a Buddhist monastery in Australia. Now, the Chairman of The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion, located in the outskirts of the regional town of Bendigo, Green recalls his first encounter with the Lama vividly.
