Synopsis
We have recorded another episode (the 6th!) in the ongoing Diasporic Self: Black Togetherness as Lingua Franca series. A collaborative project / ’exhibition’ initiated by Amsterdam based researcher and curator Amal Alhaag and London based artist and curator Barby Asante. It is an ongoing visual, sonic and dialogic programme and exhibition environment that looks into the meaning, conceptualisation, multiplicities and complexities of the notion of Black Togetherness across Europe. The 6th iteration is a conversation with two exceptional & prolific thinkers in their respective countries and beyond. And we have the privilege of bringing them together to discuss what it means to be Black in Europe in these trying times. We have Gary Younge, an award-winning author, journalist, broadcaster and academic. He was formerly a columnist at The Guardian he has been appointed Professor of Sociology at Manchester University.
