Trinity's Pastor Writes

On Wednesday nights, Trinity Lutheran Church (Herrin, IL) offers to both children and adults an opportunity for teaching with Learn-by-Heart at 6:30 PM and a catechetical service at 7:00 PM. This service is designed to prepare God’s people for the theme of the upcoming Sunday Divine Service.  The dialog sermon explains "Jesus Healing the Blind Man" (St. Luke 18:31-43), which is the Holy Gospel for Quinquagesima Sunday. Learn-by-Heart will include “Renew Me, O Eternal Light" (The Augustana Service Book and Hymnal #85), Sacrament of the Altar, the second question from the Small Catechism, and Philippians 3:9 or 1 Corinthians 2:14. --Michael D.
