Jason Drury continues the first show of 2024 by playing “Prologue/Opening City” from the classic science-fiction film SOYLENT GREEN (FSM RECORDS) by Fred Myrow, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The show then continues with exciting music from the pen of John Williams for THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK (LA LA LAND RECORDS), and James Horner from WINDTALKERS (INTRADA RECORDS). Japanese composer Joe Hisashi then takes centre stage with a suite from his current album, A SYMPHONIC CELEBRATION: MUSIC FROM THE STUDIO GHIBLI FILMS OF HAYAO MAYAZAKI (DEUTSCHE GRAMOPHONE). You’ll then hear music from Richard Band’s score to PUPPET MASTER: AXIS OF EVIL (INTRADA RECORDS). The show ends with the end title music from Michael Giacchino’s score for STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS (VARESE SARABANDE) which is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
