It was a statement I regret making. One that I didn't even realize I said until listening to the podcast myself. Even as a black woman, I subconsciously made a statement disparaging black communities. What this demonstrates is how racism can be internalized by minorities themselves. Often, black Americans are conditioned, whether consciously or not, that part of achieving the American dream is living in "desirable"
