Today’s message looks closely at one of the Lord’s sayings on the cross. It is maybe the one of most significance to perishing sinners. The words, “It is finished” or one word in the Greek – “finished”. How this word has been a balm to troubled souls down through the years since that day at Calvary! What did it mean? Well, the depth of this utterance will probably never be fully known. For, you see, it was one of infinite victory! Christ’s  promises had been kept. The prophecies had been fulfilled. Satan had been crushed. Sin had been paid for. Death had been defeated. God had been satisfied. How profound was that cry from Calvary!
