When Christ says in Joh 3:20  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved, this is a profound statement, which alludes to the power of the Holy Spirit through the upright Church. The West, as we have been taught for so many years came through the strong arm of Lawmen and their weapons. When in reality, the Lawmen were effected deeply by something else. Additionally the frontiersman and women were committed to Christianity and to what it takes to be a Christian, namely upholding the local congregation. But as will be shown in this sermon, their vigilance came with a cost, and the erosion in the end took a toll even on the America we live in today. Christ died for the Church, as Paul says in Ephesians 5:32  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
